We are going in a few weeks/staying at SSR and are on the DDP. I know you have to pay at check in, however is there anyway to mail payment down ahead of time? I am paying for 11 people and do not want to carry all that cash with me while travleing. I do not use Credit cards(I know crazy) and my mac card point of salr limit is not high enought to cover everyone and the bank does not even consider changing it. So can I mail a check down early to pay for the DDP? Do they take checks at check in or is it cash or cc only? Anyother suggestions? Thanks

I have yet to pay with a cheque (for the reason that's clear by this spelling - I'm Canadian and I assume they will not take a foreign cheque). So I'm not sure about that.

I do know they take traveller's cheques.

Also, a suggestion would be if you don't want to take so much cash or traveller's cheques, you can load a travel card and put the full amount in there. It's suppose to work exactly like a cc (except without the interest charges). Just a suggestion.

I would either write a check after you get there or take traveler's checks. That is much safer than taking cash. I would never consider taking that much cash on a trip.

I will have to goto my bank and get travelers checks. How are they safer then cash? They can still be stolen and used right?

Where can I get a pre-loaded CC for a large amount? Thanks!

Buy traveller's checks or buy a pre-paid Visa gift card/Amex gift card. Or, buy a Disney gift card at your local Disney Store ::MickeyMo .

Pretty sure you can write a check when you get there, but you may want to call and check to be on the safe side.

Have a fun trip!

Thanks for the help. I wil head off to my bank Monday for Travelers checks or pre/paid CC.

Disneymommie,

Another option is the VISA TravelMoney Card from AAA.

I do know the regular VISA/MC preloaded money cards charge a % of what is loaded so that may not be the most
economical option but still worth looking into. We were going to give these at Christmas but the fees made it not worth it.

I am not sure if the AAA card has fees but I do not believe so. Check out the AAA website under Banking for the full scoop. I do not think you need to be a member of AAA to get the card but you do have to go to an AAA office.

Thanks. I called the local office for AAA. I am going to go with that option. I will preload a card with our meal money on it! Thanks so much for the info!!
