Last Sept, we checked in at 9:30 am, room not available, but gave me my keys to the world, parking permit, packet etc and a card with a phone number to call to find out when my room was ready. Great, no time wasted.
We ran to the drugstore for some things, then drove to the Contemporary, as we had ADR for early lunch at CM. We were early so we walked around and before we knew it our buzzer rang and we were eating. Used our keys to the world to use our DDP for lunch. After lunch I called the number to see if the room was ready or if we should go to DTD to walk around. I did not expect it to be ready until checkin time at 3 pm. Room was ready early, at that time they told me what my room number was and for me to look on the map they gave me, and that my keys should work. Went to resort, keys worked, unloaded and on with our day.
It wouldn't make sense that the tickets would work but not the DDP. BUT now that I think about it, when we checked in, the front desk knew what room we would be in. They verified it was in the area I requested but needed to be cleaned. They would not tell me the room number because they didn't want me to try until it was ready. So if you have checked in, I would guess they know your room number.
