I have the DDP and i was just looking at Akershushes Dinner menu online. We are totally going for the PRINCESS aspect of this one because the adult menu does not appeal to me AT ALL. They will let me order something from the kids menu, right? :confused3

Gee, I wonder where I heard that before? Oh yeah right, it was what my DH and I were saying to each other about 2 years ago during our Norway princess dinner! :scared: At that time they were still advertising this meal as an all you care to eat table service, even though it had changed prior to our arrival. When we got there and learned it was pre-plated and what the offerings were....oh boy. My DH was less than happy and graciously offered to meet up with my DD and myself after his Chinese dinner down the road! We convinced him to stay once we told him Princess Jasmine was in there (his favorite) and I can honestly say it was our only meal ever at WDW where we were jealous of our DD as she ate her hot dog and corn. popcorn::

Another funny thing was looking around and seeing all the other moms and dads fighting about the same thing!

I have seen many positive postings on this restaurant, so I am afraid to say just how bad we thought it was. Food was bland and very different from our normal diet. We are adventurous, please don't think we eat hamburgers and apple pie only, but pickled mackerel and peppered herring just don't excite us. The actual main course selections seemed as though they could be ok, but as we learned on this journey through Norway...seasonings in food is not a common practice. AKA: the food is really bad.

As for service, our waiter was as bland as our food.

Seriously though... the cost of this dinner, (we paid for this OOP), was worth it. WHAT DID I SAY???? Yes it's true. My DD was in heaven with this princess experience. Each princess will come to the table to talk, sign autographs, pose for photos. Each took their time with our DD and came back twice. We are glad we did this. In Feb. 07 we tried the storybook breakfast and enoyed this food and all. Maybe this is a better choice for you too?
Good Luck!

LOL! Glad to know Im not alone! Im a lil fussy and all of that is too adventurous for me. DH on the other hand will eat anything ... and DD will just be excited to see so many princesses all together. :cloud9: I would try and reschedule a breakfast but DD is going to BBB prior to this at 12:30pm. I think Ill have a nice big snack beforeI go. :rotfl:

My SIL lives in Norway, and she would say that's generally true of Norwegian food. Mostly she eats at the local Pakistani restaurants. *Really* good smoked fish, but not much else worth writing home about.

We fixed the food problem by going to the breakfast. I know my family would have not touched the lunch or dinner food.

I guess what I am trying to say that its like the pre-plated dinners, there is a childs price and adult price, they will not let you pay the childs price when you are an adult. They MAY let you order a childs meal, but you will be charged the adult price.
