DDP Available to DVCers staying at other Disney Hotels

From an e-mail from MS:

The Disney Dining Plan, previously available to Disney Vacation Club Members only when staying in a Disney Vacation Club Resort at the Walt Disney World® Resort, now is available to Members staying in Walt Disney World Disney Collection Resorts as well.



So, if you want to stay at the Poly (on points), you can now get the DDP.

I thought it meant DVC members could also get the plan when booking a cash reservation thru CRO (AP rates/FL resident/etc). Guess we need to get clarification as to whether or not it must be a stay on points.

Do you suppose they've already had a sharp decrease in the number of people using DDP due to the changes for '08? It still chaps by who-know-what that they devalued the plan by removing app/tip and only decreased the price by $1...why even bother?

I would think it would only be fair of them to offer it, if they are going to charge the 95 dollar booking fee for Disney resorts on points.

I was just reading the article on the members sight and it doesn't state "when staying on points". It just says when staying at Disney World Properties. So do we get it regardless of staying on points or cash?

That seems to be the problem...it doesn't clarify anything on the website. I guess whoever's interested should call MS and ask.

I am going to take a guess that it will not include DVC members booking through CRO at any WDW resort.. The Disney Collection Resorts are only those listed in the Collection. Perhaps booking these through MS on points or cash will be the deciding factor in being allowed to book the DDP.
