We returned from Disney two weeks ago today. :sad1: Don't think I'll have time for a TR but hope to write a few notes down as a dining review. In the meantime, I'll tell you where we went; if you have any questions, please feel free to ask!!!

How did you like San Angel Inn? We have never been. Next time I suggest going to Spoodles itself-it really is an undiscovered gem. I am glad you had a great time.

I also would love to hear a review on San Angel Inn- we're thinking of dining there for our next trip in June.

How was Narcoossee's? I think the chef from Citricos is there now?

We love the atmosphere of San Angel Inn. We have to go there each time we're at Disney; it's tradition for our family. The food is fair to good but not great. Five of us ate there this time; we ordered 3 fajita platters and 2 combination plates. The fajitas are much smaller than we're used to, but there was still plenty of food. We were on the DP but wanted to use our TS for dinners, so we paid OOP for lunch at SAI. To us, the ambience alone is worth the money. Narcoossee's was great. I didn't realize the chef moved over from Citricos. That was actually the other place we wanted to go, but we used our 2TS for Narcoossee's instead. I hope we can try Citricos next time. Our bill for Narcoossee's (for 7) was just under $600. We thoroughly enjoyed our food. Most of us ordered the surf and turf, and it was absolutely delicious. The calamari appetizer was unusual in that it's served with peppers; two of us really enjoyed it but DH did not. I thought it was superb.
I had only one MINOR complaint. I had ordered a mini wedding cake (2 wks prior) for my DD and son-in-law's 1st anniversary and checked on it when we arrived. They told us that it had been delivered by the bakery and would be brought out with dessert. When we finished our dinner and (a few of us) ordered dessert, the desserts were brought out but not the mini cake. Then I had a hard time finding our server so I could ask him w/out my DD and SIL finding out about it. Finally I went back to the podium and told them and the cake was brought out a few minutes later. By that time, we had finished our coffee and the others in our party finished their dessert. Regardless, the cake was beautiful and it was worth it just to surprise them. We had a wonderful window seat (only waited a few mins. extra), but I made the ADR for 7:30, too early for the fireworks at 10:00. When I made them, I was thinking of 9:00, but that was the MK parade!! Anyway, we had a long, leisurely dinner but just couldn't stretch it any longer, so we went out onto the deck and waited for the fireworks. It was definitely worth the wait~~a beautiful view with the sky all open and clear in front of us. It was a lovely evening.

I would really like to hear what you had at Chef's. We have an ADR there on our last night but I have read lots of negative reviews lately. Could you please tell me what you had and if it was good or not. I am going with 2 picky eaters - both 19. :thanks:

Five of us went to Chefs: myself, DH, DS 17, DD 22, and DD25. We had a few different appetizers: one salad with house dressing (ordinary salad, nothing special, but very fresh), one lobster bisque, 2 onion soups, and 1 escargot. My son really enjoyed the bisque, and my daughter and I LOVED the onion soup. We shared the escargot and thought it was excellent as well~~loaded with garlic butter. I had hoped to order the steak au poivre but it was no longer on the menu. DH wanted the duck, also not offered. Four of us had the flank steak; we all agreed that they were fair. I thought mine was quite dry. DS had the rotisserie chicken. He enjoyed it very much. He needed to pick at it quite a bit but didn't mind getting a bit messy~and he thought it was prepared very well. Only 3 of us ordered desserts, and I only remember 2 of them, both excellent: the creme brulee and the cream puffs with ice cream. We were somewhat disappointed with the main course, as I had heard so many wonderful reviews. The flank steaks really did not win us over. I would probably go back to try something different and to enjoy the appetizers; however, my family is not anxious to go back.
