DDP and TIW at same time?

We are visiting WDW in October and will be paying oop for DDP (as DVC members..no free dining for us). We also have a TIW card. I was wondering if we could use the TIW card for appetizers and drinks while we use the DDP credit for our entree and dessert? Is this possible? It it a nightmare to do? We're traveling with another family, so we'll also be on two checks. I don't want it to turn into a major hassle for our servers and cause confusion, but yet I would like to save some $ if we can! Thanks for the advice!

Yes, you can use the TIW discount on anything you are paying for out of pocket (apps, alcoholic beverages, etc), just be aware that this will cause the automatic TIW gratuity to kick in on your ticket.

It's not a problem. We did the same thing during our trip May, 2010 (Trip Report link below). You will get two separate tickets. Just tell the CM you have the DDP and will put additional items on your TIW card. Have fun!!
