Am I correct that I can not purchase the DDP if I use a 30% off pin code to book my room? Or, do I only need to buy park tickets to get the DDP? You would think I would know this answer, but I've never gotten a code before and now I'm all confused. :confused3

Funny, I had posted the same question on another board and I called reservations (Disney) to confirm what I was told -- you can add a dining plan/tickets package to a room only (with discount) reservation. i made a reservation (room only) using a 40% pin. the rep told me that i could add the dining plan/tickets no problem! they just need to enter it in the system as a different code, but they can do it. of course only the room is discounted though. :)

i'm considering the dining plan now too.
good luck!

You can add DDP on to a room that you used a pin for. All people in the room have to have the plan, and yes you need to buy park tickets (for at least 1 day I think). The pin code just changed the room price, nothing else.

Thank-you! Thank-You! That is great news. Even with the 2008 changes, DDP is a good deal for us because the kids like to eat at character dinners. Plus, I hate worrying about $ when I'm on vacation. I do that the other 51 weeks of the year. :rotfl:

What you may have heard is you cannot have the room discount if you have the Free DDP in Aug and Sept. You can only have one or the other.

You may be on to something here. We were able to take advantage of the free dining last August, so maybe that is how my brain got so muddled on the issue.:confused3

The only way I knew is because we had the room discount and were paying for the DDP from AAA last year and when free dining was offered we switched to free DDP but lost the room discount. But the free dining is a much bigger savings then the room discount.
