Currently I am on a waitlist for a BW view room for Dec. 30. I already have BW view room for Dec. 28 and 29, then a pool/garden view for Dec. 30, then BW view again for Dec. 31 - Jan. 6. I have been on the waitlist for 10 months and am still hoping it may come through so I don't have to move out for a day and then back again. However, having 3 separate reservations makes me consider getting the DDP for the first 2 or 3 nights (I would not want it for all 9 nights). What if I get the DDP and then the waitlist comes through? Will the 3 reservations all become 1 reservation and make it necessary for me to buy all 9 nights of the DDP?
Also, are there restrictions on the use of the DDP around NY Eve and NY Day? I know that there are holiday restrictions on the Tables in Wonderland card.

I'm glad you posted this question- I have a similar situation in April.

The DDP didn't have restrictions last year during Christmas/New Year's.

If you ask that all of the reservations are linked together (so you don't need to move) they will usually consider it to be one reservation and the DDP wowuld apply to the entire stay. In the current status, you have 3 different reservations and can have the DDP for any/all/none of those reservations. If the waitlist does come thru and you have everything linked, you'lll have one reservation, one room key, one statement ... and one DDP (unless they miss it at check-in).

Good luck with your waitlist! :)

The DDP has no blackout dates.

If you got the 30th and linked the reservations together, then if you got the DDP, it would be for your entire vacation. If you linked the first 3 nights, them you run the risk of having to change rooms.

Thanks, all. I guess that I will wait until the last minute to decide. If the WL doesn't clear, I will get the DDP for the first 2 or 3 nights. If it does clear, I'll pass. I'm thinking that if it happens to come through AFTER I check in (I've had that happen), I wouldn't have to buy the additional days.

Similar question: We have 3 reservations, all the same room type, but I only have DDP on the 2nd reservation. MS told me that I run the risk of changing rooms. Told her it didn't matter, since it will be to their disadvantage moving me. It's for a total of 8 nights. If I move, I get a clean room. If I have the same rooms I only get a clean room the fourth night. Am I missing something?

What about trying for the 3 nights as preferred view so you only have to move once and then you could get the DDP for the 3 nights?

No, seems like you've thought of the risks. If you have to change rooms, you'll be out of the room and have your things potentially unavailable for 5-6 hours. Technically you're entitled to the clean room whether you actually move or not but I wouldn't push it until you're sure you won't have to move. You'll also have to check in again for each NEW reservation and your CC will be billed for any charges at that time.

Thanks, Dean. I'll keep that in mind when I check in...
