DDP and picky eater

Hi all, looking for advise. My DS is 3, will be 4 in Oct. We're going for 2 wks in Sept with the free DDP. Prob is, he don't like anything except cheese sandwiches and french fries. Anybody have any advise on who might offer cheese sandwiches on their kids menu or how to get him to at least try something like mac & cheese which is everywhere.

I know that Jiko has Mac and Cheese, Spoodles and Chef de France also serve Mac and Cheese.

Finding french fries certainly won't be a problem anywhere

You can check allearsnet.com for menus to see who has grilled cheese sandwiches. My kids are also somewhat picky, but they prefer chicken nuggets and pizza which is on just about EVERY kids menu.

And, none of my business but I'm curious---are you exaggerating slightly? Is that honestly his TOTAL diet? YIKES if it is. He won't eat any fresh fruit? cereal? toast? oatmeal? spaghetti? PBJ? I hope he at least has a good multi-vitamin.

As for how to get them to try other things---after our 3rd child came along, I just quit serving "alternative" dinners for the kids. I mean, I do consider there likes/dislikes and don't serve liver and onions, but I cook a decent balanced dinner that they can eat or not. And as they have gotten older (age 5 plus) I ask that they try one bite of everything. (I tried that at age 3 with DS #2 who is stubborn, and he took one bite of a carrot then gagged and threw up his dinner. So, I postponed that strategy for a while)

LOL no, he eats watermelon, beets, peas, pb&j, cereal, french toast if his grandma makes it so that gets egg into him too without him knowing...

i was just meaning when we even go out to dinner, if the restaurant doesn't have toasted cheese, we're in trouble. he won't eat. He goes to daycare part time and they give him bfast snack and lunch and he goes all morning without eating there.

I tried tricking him one time giving him tater tots and trying to get him to taste a piece of breaded chicken breast..cut it the same size as the tatertot and hid it in with him. he ate the little piece and then got mad at me and refused to eat tater tots again *sigh!*

I know its a phase most kids go through and its good that we won't be paying OOP for the meals but still....ug!

He has a RX vitamin that is very good with flouride in it...good thing i got it in pill form now because it was a liquid..

Just curious what kind of vitamin did you get in liquid form for your ds? We have the same problem with our ds. He goes beyond picky though because he actually has oral aversion issues. Eating anywhere with him is so much fun! (a little sarcasm here, lol) Sometimes he does surprise us though... Anyway, we've been crushing up regular childrens vitamins and blending them with his morning milk because he won't eat the chewable kind (he just sucks on them a little bit and then spits them out). If there was something in liquid form I could ask his doctor for a Rx for then that would be really great.

As far as traveling with it...I'm not concerned. It's just vitamins so I'd pack it in the checked luggage.

If he will eat an uncrustable PBJ, then you are in luck. Lots of places in WDW serve those. And all of the food courts in the resort usually serve cut up watermelon as a fruit option. You may have to pay for it, though!

With a search on allearsnet.com, I found all of the food courts serve grilled cheese (in the Resorts), Ohanas, Concourse, Jiko, Sci Fi, a place at Typhoon Lagoon, Rainforest Cafe, Wolfgang Puck, Earl of Sandwich, Liberty Tree Tavern, Whispering Canyon, the Plaza Cafe in the MK, Beaches and Cream, Hoop Dee Doo (by request), and Blizzard Beach. That covers all parks and all resorts except Epcot---and I'm sure there is one there that I missed.
