DDP and OOP on Room Key

I am a DDP rookie, when eating at a QS can you tell them when you want to use a credit or just charge cost to the room. The reason I am asking is that we use QS almost every evening for dessert and a drink only, and I don't want to waist QS credits as we need them for breakfast and lunch. We are trying to decide if DDP is worth it or we should travel when Free DDP is not in effect. We want to stay at AKL late Sept. and I really don't want to carry an extra credit card or extra cash charging to room is so easy.

Yes. Just tell the Cm that you want to use X dining credits or that you want to charge the purchase to your room It is what we do all the time.

To answer your question yes. You can always pay OOP and keep your credits.

Now I see that you plan on using your credits for breakfast and lunch and wish to pay for dinner. I hope you are aware dinner is the more expensive of the meals. So if you are on the QS plan, it is best to pay for breakfast or lunch and use the credit for the more expensive meals.

So if you plan on paying OOP for any meal daily, figure out where you are going to eat for every meal that day and always pay for the less expensive.

(oh anytime you do pay OOP and charge to the room instead of using a credit. Check the receipt before walking away to make sure they charge you correctly. Mistakes do happen and they are easier to fix on the spot).
