I know children under 3 are not charged but what does that mean???
How are they handled. We are going in Dec., DW, DD will be 4.5 and DS will be almost 2.5.
Thank you and Happy New Year!

At most every restaurant (sit down) they were given either the same choice of my other children, or given a special 'kids' meal. At the buffet's, he ate off my plate (really he had his own plate LOL).

Garden Grill, gave him his own plate and own dessert like my other children, CRT he had his own childs plate, Chef Mickey's he ate off the buffet and was given a glass for orange juice, Sci Fi he was given a special kids choice, I don't think it was on the same menu that my other kids used though.

At the Counter Service, you either pay OOP or you let them eat off your plate.

HTH

Officially, at table service locations if your child eats off your plate (not necessarily literally, but shares food with people who ordered), there's no charge. If you order food for him, you pay for it.
At buffets, he can eat anything he wants - no charge.

That's officially. In actuality, you're very likely to run into the same type of service TheRatPack describes - but it depends on the location.

We were leaning to more buffets than usual anyways for the chracters so it's good to hear....
Thanks for the info guys!

We did a meal plan on 2 trips when my daughter was under 3. Our experience varied depending on where we ate. Obviously buffets, she could eat whatever she wanted, same with Ohana. They even brought her grilled cheese and didn't charge us for it. Yachtsman also insisted she could order off the kids menu and didn't charge us for it. Some places just brought her some extra stuff for free. I remember Rose and Crown's server brought her out some grapes and cheese without us asking for anything. Flying Fish also brought her out something just for her. I think Brown Derby did too-I think it was fruit. Several places did charge us for a kids meal if we ordered one for her. We ordered milk for her at every place and only about half charged us for it. This was 2003 and 2004, so I can't remember too many specifics.
