My parents are considering purchasing a Florida resident Annual Pass and they are unsure how the AP plays in with purchasing the Disney Dining Plan.

Are you still eligible for the DDP if you have an AP? If so, how do you go about booking it?

TIA!:goodvibes

AP holders are allowed to add the dining plan to room reservations. You probably have to go through the pass holder website or call them to set it up. You just can't get the "free" dining packages without purchasing a park ticket.

Thank you!!:goodvibes I didn't realize there was a separate passholder website.

Yes, you can get the DDP if you book an AP package. Go to the WDW passholder webpage:

http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw/passholder/landing

After you've signed in, click on the "Passholder Offers" link and scroll to the bottom. There is a link for "Room and Dining Packages for Passholders" which will let you reserve a room and dining package without having to purchase tickets.

As the PP said, if you wanted to take advantage of free dining, you will need to purchase tickets.

One thing to add is you would need to use the passholder rates to do this. I know someone that was unable to add the dining plan to their PIN code even though they had APs (unless they purchased tickets).

We have the AP this year, we used it last year for free dining, we upgraded our 8 day MYW ticket the first day to the AP. Now we want to make use of our AP so we are goiing for 4 nights end of May to June and not using any dining pass this would be our first no dining pass since 2003, but did book some restaurants for lunch that give dining discounts with the AP (San Angle and Fultons Crab House). We are also going in October again before the AP runs out and so far no free dining but we would probably stay at POP and maybe no dining there and if there was we would have to get the photo pass and loose the AP room discount. We may buy the QSDP having 2 snack credits would be good for the Food and Wine Fest. and take the AP room rate and book a few TS restaurants and pay OOP for thoise restaurants. We will have to check when it gets closer to October what the AP room rates would be and if free dining will be available into October.
