We are going to Disney in November and purchased the DDP for 2 adults and 2 kids. With that being said my parents are going too but did not purchase a dining plan. There is no possible way we could eat 3 meals a day p/person so we will be buying meals for my parents. My plans were for the most part to do a breakfast TS (mostly character meals at the parks) and then an evening nice dinner TS with snacks as needed.
I did not plan any lunches but now I'm questioning whether 2 ts in a day is too much based on others opinions I've read. Any thoughts before my window opens?

I don't think a breakfast and dinner TS is too much food if you are only planning on snacking in between. Character breakfasts do take up a lot of time, though, so you may want to think through if you want to spend that morning time eating or riding rides/seeing attractions. Have you priced out the DxDP? You can share credits on the dining plan and could use those extra credits to "treat" your parents. It might be worth pricing out to see if there is any cost advantage to the DxDP for the meals you've planned all together.

I might not be understanding you correctly...

The regular dining plan includes one table service and one quick service per day. We just did the plan last month and did one character breakfast and one QS breakfast pre park at BOG. We are in the room the rest of the days. We used most QS for lunch and our TS for dinners - lots with characters and/or buffet.

Have fun!

Yes the deluxe dining plan is what we decided to do... it seemed to be the best value as far as those pricey character/ table service meals since we knew we wanted a few of those to avoid character lines... thanks for the input! :)

The abbreviation DDP is used to refer to the regular dining plan (Disney Dining Plan) which offers one table service meal and one quick service meal per night of your reservation. The abbreviation for the deluxe plan is DxDP. That's why people were confused. :)

By asking if 2 TS meals/day is too much, were you referring to the amount of food or amount of time?

With walking around the parks all day, you will be hungry for dinner.

As for the amount time, that's hard to say. TS meals take longer than QS, but, if you use the TS meals as your resting/break time, then you aren't really losing park time. We will never pick a QS over a TS for time reasons, as we've found that QS meals were taking us almost as long as TS, as we were sitting and resting for awhile before getting going again anyway. Did you plan your dinners to be the end of the day, or earlier times so you can recharge for evening fun?

With 2 TS meals per day, I would either have the times be:
8:00 in park ADR and 4:00 (which allows for rope drop riding and recharge time for late afternoon fun)
or
10:00 and 6:00 (which allows you to sleep in and recharge for evening fun)

And, in either case, snacking in between.
