I already have park tickets for the family for my upcoming trip. I bought no expiry tickets last time we were at Disney. Can I add or upgrade them to include the DDP? The brochure info indicates that DDP must be purchased in advance and cannot be done on arrival date.
If you already have room-only reservations, you might be able to change it to a package w/ room, 1 day passes for each person and the dining. You'll just have to call Disney or your travel agent to find out.
You can still use the tickets you already have, but you still have to buy the package tickets as well.
Just like others have posted. In order to qualify for a "package" you must book the package through CRO (or AAA). The DDP can only be added to a package. A package consist of a full price room plus at least a one day ticket for each member in your entire party. This is why AP holders have to buy one day tickets when they want to book a special package. We have the park tickets already, but know the requirement is that we have to purchase (another) ticket from CRO as part of the package. A package has lots of other rules involved too, like a $200 deposit, and cancellation fees if after 31 days prior to arriving. All packages must be paid in full 45 days before arrival. A room only reservation does not qualify as a pacakge and it does not qualify for DDP. Sometimes a room only reservation can be turned into a package, but sometimes it can't. It has to be done in advance. Hope this helps.
The exception to this is if you book through a AAAtravel agency, you can get a package with the DDP and tickets, and a AAA discount off the room-portion. Discounts are subject to availability - so certain resorts and room types may not be available.
