DDP '08 Question

I have booked the DP for our upcoming trip in Feb. I haven't paid for it yet, but I had a question before i pay for it. I have all our Ressie's made already and after I do the math, I really don't think it's worth it.
Am I able to cancel the DP anytime?
Also, do I have to let the restaurants know that I am not on it anymore?

we never called to tel them we were not going to use the DDP. They ask again at the podium anyways. I am not sure how long you have to change your ressie. We are DVC and I think it is 24 hours
