Sorry,I know this has been asked before, but I couldn't get the search to work.
Anyway, which is better,or do they offer about the same value? We have a DDE card. Is it worth it to get DDP? The reason I ask is because I like the idea of having our meals paid in advance. Thank-you.

I think it depends on a lot of different factors.

The DDE saves you 20%. So does the DDP (on your TS meals- actually- it saves you quite a bit more than that if you like to eat 3 courses at your TS meals and don't drink a lot of alcohol) because it already includes your tax and tip. Of course since you already have the DDE, there is NO reason that you can't try the DDP and use the DDE for any OOP expenses that you incur (alcohol, add-ons, non-participating restaurants, extra TS meals, etc).

The DDP gives you, for 10.99/child and 38.99/adult per night of your vacation- 1 TS meal, 1 CS meal and 1 snack per person. Since a character meal buffet, a combo lunch at a quick service location at a theme park and a bottle of water will set you back well in excess of $40 per adult and $11 per kid...the DDP is a great value. If you dine at le Cellier, Wolfgang puck express and have a lobster roll at the Food and Wine Festival with your adult credits for the day- you may get more than $100 of value for your credits (While the DDE might have saved you $15ish) or conversely, if you have a breakfast buffet, grab a hot dog at caseys and get a small bottle of water you may barely break even (or come out behind for the day.)...then the DDE would have been a better choice.

It really depends on how you eat when you visit WDW or how you WANT to eat when you visit WDW :)

It depends on a lot of things - are you a Florida Resident? I'd not generally suggest a package for a FL resident, because you can get discount FL res tickets, and sometimes special deals on hotels too. Then the DDE card is icing on the cake.

I have DDE and am doing the free dining at the Pop - but it'd never be worth it for me to pay for the dining plan.
