DDE timing question

We are coming to WDW in July 2006, then again in June 2007. We have AP vouchers that should cover both vacations. We intend to buy the DDE card, but know that it takes a about 3 weeks to get it, so I want to order it early enough for it to arrive before we leave, but want it to be valid for June the following year. Any idea about the expiration of the card? Does it expire one year from purchase day or month? Thanks for any help you can give me.

I ordered mine mid July and received at the beginning of August (about 2 weeks!), and the expiration is August 31st, 2006.

For the first time ever, we purchased annual passes and the DDE Card.

We wanted to use both the Annual Pass and the DDE Card for two visits.

It may be different now, but when I purchased the DDE Card, they said it would expire at the end of the purchase month, one year later.

Also, it took months to receive the actual card. Something like 2 months after we got back from our first visit.

However, when I purchased the DDE Card, I asked them to send me a confirmation email. They did so, and I printed out a couple of copies, and carried them every time we left in the morning for the parks. Everyone excepted the confirmation email, instead of the actual DDE card, without issue.

For our first visit, we used the card several times for 3 adults, and two children. It more than paid for itself that first visit.

Thanks, your reply really clears things up for me. If I order the DDE in early June 2006, it won't expire until the end of June 2007, that will be perfect for our plans. We are big sitdown restaurant fans, so I am sure the card will more than pay for itself.

I ordered my card on August 2, 2005 and received it 3 weeks and 2 days later and it expires on August 2007. So if the OP wants it for their July trip, they need to incoporate up to 4 weeks to arrive. I believe I read the card comes from PA, but I live next door in WV, so there was no mail slow down in receiving it. The CM said it would expire in Aug. 2007 (which it does) and told me I would receive it in 3 weeks (which I did). So they are pretty much on the mark now. However, if and when folks start renewing, that office should again become a mad-house, since so many AP holders got their cards as soon as the perk came out.

About 2.5 weeks to arrive. For us it is the best thing since sliced bread. Worth every penny we spent on it. Got it cheaper the following year for renewal also.
