DDE Special Event -- Let's Play Ball

I received an email announcement from Disney Dining Experience and in the 'Save the Date' section it had the following listing:

Tuesday, May 15, 2007 - Let's Play Ball - Tampa Bay Devil Rays vs. Texas Rangers

I haven't been able to find any other information regarding this DDE event. I'm assuming this is the pre-announcement and that more info will follow, but want to make sure I haven't missed something. Any other DDE members out there who know more about this upcoming event?

Humbug-You should call or email them and have your email addy added to your info. I never receved emails from them, either, until I renewed this last time and they asked for it.

dbeckma-I think I receved the same email as you...the one about the fishing and special dinner at Flying Fish? I sooo wish I could go to that, but the dates don't work for us, and neither does the price! Ouch! I am assuming that $225 is PER PERSON? Oh well, I am sure it is worth it...Disney always seems to do thing 'right."

Sorry I do not have any info about that baseball event. I hope you can get more info soon...maybe call them. Let us know what you find out!

We are pleased to present a unique Disney event on Saturday, April 14th for all bass masters and bass novices!?

The boat engines will start purring towards the intimate lakes of the Walt Disney World?? Resort at 9:30 a.m. and you will be in the steady hands of our Walt Disney World???Boat Captains.??Throughout the morning you will have the opportunity to catch and release some of the ?happiest? Bass in the world.?

The boats return to land at noon and the?culinary duo?of Chef Tim Keating and Chef Anthony De Luca will be waiting for you at The Flying Fish Caf? for an exclusive Boating Party lunch. The esteemed wines of Chalk Hill Estates have been selected for the event and Sara Brewer, the winery?s South East Sales Manager, will be presenting them.

The afternoon will conclude with a wine reception and a private tour of the adjacent Wyland Gallery, owned by the internationally acclaimed environmental artist and conservationist of the famed name. In addition, two of the Gallery?s featured artists, Cris Woloszak and Sissi?Janku, will be on hand to present their own work. Each attending guest will receive a lithograph by the nature artist, Dana Queen.? For Wyland collectors, the Wyland/Disney Collaboration Fine Art pieces will be available for purchase; a signed and numbered unframed Ariel's Dolphin Ride lithograph will be presented as a gift with purchase.? ?

Concerning the logistics, we invite all participants to park at Disney?s BoardWalk Resort and gather in front of the Flying Fish Caf? at 9:00 a.m.?Please wear appropriate sporting clothes for the fishing adventure.

about the baseball event if you find any info!! I am a DDE card holder (okay, I don't actually HOLD the card YET) and will be there May 15th. DH loves baseball and is from Texas...it would be great to go!!

I haven't received any further information yet. Has anyone else? I did call them a while back and they said something would be coming shortly. They wouldn't give me any additional info over the phone. Please let me know if more information was sent out and I just missed it.

Spring training has ended and it’s time to PLAY BALL!!!

Come and be a part of Disney history as the Tampa Bay Devil Rays battle the Texas Rangers in the first game of a three game series. The Devil Rays take a road trip down I-4 on May 15th to bring Major League Baseball to Central Florida for the first time.

Celebrating their 10 year anniversary, Disney’s Wide World of Sports Complex has been the premiere destination for amateur sports, hosting over 180 events in more than 30 categories. The complex has also been the home of training camps for both the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Atlanta Braves.

In the intimate setting of the complex’s 9,500 seat stadium, you can watch Scott Kazmir pitch to the mighty Sammy Sosa as he tries to hit one out of the park. You will be right in the middle of the action as you watch from behind the 1st base line.

Our event will begin in true Disney Dining Experience fashion with an exclusive tailgating reception featuring savory hors d’oeuvres and beer and wines at the Tavern on the Green. Following the reception we will provide goodies during the game so that you won't miss a minute of the action.

What's with the sporting themes to the most recent DDE events? That's what I'd like to know! The last one involved a fishing excursion on Bay Lake. Now, a tailgating party at some baseball game. Oy! DH and I are not impressed.
