I plan to renew my DDE card but I was wondering if it's worthwhile to get one for my DH as well. Last year we went to WDW with a total of 8 people so we never went over the max # of 10 diners that the DDE rules specify. But this year, part (5 out of 8 days) of our vacation will be with 15 people total. If I get a card for my DH too, then will the 20% DDE discount be able to be used for everyone (and we could always ask for 2 checks , if it would matter). Although I can't imagine why else we (or anyone w/spouse) would need 2 cards unless you can use them like this. We're planning on having 5 sit-down meals with all 15 of us together at restaurants that accept the DDE card so the savings could really add up (certainly more than the $30 for the second card). No one else who will be with us will have a DDE card so if we could use 2 it would just be mine and my husband's -- but will we be able to do that????????? :confused3

I'm not 100% sure that this answer is correct but I believe it is. The second card is NOT a separate DDE account. It is the same as both a husband and wife having a charge card on the same account. If your credit limit is $5000.00 on the account you don't go to a $10,000.00 limit just because you have gotten a second card. The extra DDE card is just in case you are not eating at the same time or in the same place for some reason. If you are all at the same place at the same time you get only the 10 guests limit.

Yes, the last post is correct. I just returned from Disney with a large group, and several times I asked about using both my husband's DDE card and mine when all of us dined together. Both places (Beaches & Cream and Donald's Breakfastosaurus) allowed only 10 meals to be discounted even though I had two cards. But the food court at the All Stars was another story; I was able to use that for everyone's breakfast, every day of our trip (using just the one card).

disneyyes -- When the discount was applied to 10 of your meals did they ring it up as two separate checks? And at the AllStars food court you could use it too? I didn't see that on the DDE restaurant list. Did you have to be the one actually paying every time or just be present?

I am debating between the Dining Plan and the DDE Card. Can the DDE card be used at any counter service?

No, it was accepted at counter service resorts that didn't have a table service restaurant. But, I just read another post that mentioned as of this month it was no longer accepted at value resort food courts. I do NOT know if this is true.

Edited to add:

I just went to the Disney site and the most recent list of participating restaurants does not list the counter service places at any value resorts or POFQ.
