Hello, I'm interested in buying into the DDE plan. We are APs (I know there is a $25 discount!!). Are PS restaurants only on this plan? Any counter service? Is there an official listing anywhere?

Thanks, in advance for your help!

Looks that the only counter services covered are the All Star Food Courts and the AK restaurants (no counter service in MK, Epcot or MGM). I have the list with me if you are looking for specific restaurants.

Thanks so much for the info! Already printed out and in my pocket! :cool1:

DDE is only good for counter service in a place where there is no sit down restaurant. That is why the all stars and AK are on the list.

We're just back and used DDE extensively. Was good for 20% discount at most sit-down restaurants, the food court at our hotel and the counter service places at AK. Our family of 2 adults, 1 child and 1 infant saved $25 over the cost the DDE card in one week.

My husband and I also bought the card and used it for the first time this weekend. It was great! We saved a bundle at Rose & Crown and AK the next day, plus they took it at Boatwright's at Port Orleans where we were staying. We haven't come close to paying it off yet, but the thrill of getting a "discount" at all those expensive meals was so worth it!!

We used ours for a week in February. My family and my sister's - there were 7 of us. We saved a boatload!

is it really a savings? or is it basically your tips paid in advance?

I guess you could look at it as prepaid tips. If I spend $100 on food, my tip would be $20 and that's what the discount would be. I guess it doesn't really matter where the savings are, 20% is 20%.

It's not paying your tips in advance... that implies that you're actually spending the same amount on food in the end but just paying part of it in advance.

We're having 50 people at the Polynesian Luau as our rehearsal dinner. Only 10 can get the discount, but that's $100 savings right there, $50 of which is the cost of the card, so net is $50 savings for that one meal alone. Everything else we use it for for our trips this May, this November, and probably also next spring is icing on the cake.

We ordered ours and since there are six of us (four considered adults and two children) the card will pay for itself by the end of the second day . . . that leaves seven days of savings!! :cool1:
