DDE ok with NON-activated AP?

Bear with me if this has been answered elsewhere... vaguely remember the question coming up but can't find the answer!

I have old multi-day park passes with enough days remaining for my upcoming trip. BUT since i will have a large party (9) I decided that having the DDE was a good deal. So i have ordered an AP to be eligible for DDE. Here's the question: Suppose i use the voucher # on my AP to order DDE but then do not need to activate AP once i am at the parks (i.e. could "save" AP for another 12 month interval) Does that invalidate the DDE? I am not trying to circumvent the system and, in fact, this never occured to me until it was mentioned on this board somewhere! Also we are not going to the parks til the third day of our trip so would prefer NOT to activate AP anyway until after I have had a couple of nights when i would like to use DDE.Anyone with experience with using DDE BEFORE AP is actaully ACTIVATED?

DS & I started using our DDE card Aug 13th. We didnt activate our APs until the 16th - no problem

I have never even been asked the numbers on my ap when ordering the dde card so I think you will be fine. Also if you are staying on disney property ( or want to ) Id look into the ap discount as well on rooms. We saved over $750.00 alone on our room plus with what we will save using our dde card we made out like bandits.

We are DVC members so using our points for this stay but hoping to use AP rates for booking a stay next spring and/or fall! (It was our DVC discount that seemed to make the AP purchase such an awesome deal)

I just got back from my first trip with DDE. I was mostly asked for a picture ID or nothing but at Sci Fi they did ask me for my AP. I haven't had a chance to add it up yet but I think just about broke even on my 3 night stay with $50 in savings so everything I save on my 9 night stay in Poly will be "extra".
