Do you think Disney will ever off the DDE to DVC? We have it because of our AP's, but this would be a great perk for DVC.

For those who don't know, The DDE gets you 20% off your entire meals, including drinks, at most restaruants. It dosn't offer it at counter service.
It's $60 a year and it pays for itself very quickly.

I doubt there are any plans to extend the DDE to the DVC general membership (those not FL residents or AP holders). The reason I think this way is because the Dining Plan is now available to DVCers, but the Dining Plan is not available to AP discounted or FL resident discounted room ressies.

I think here's the main thing - the DDE only works if you eat there a lot. For the visitor who goes once a year, it's a money loser. For those that go a few times, the discount pays for itself in entice them to eat additional meals on property.

For Florida residents, this made sense. Visiting WDW if only for a meal was relatively easy.

AP holders similarly generally visit more than once a year (or at least stay longer), so DDE is a good thing to offer them too.

A DVC member who is not an AP holder probably just isn't going to WDW enough to make the discount worthwhile to Disney. If they were, they would most likely have an AP.

I know this sounds way BAD but I could save the cost of the DDE on Drinks alone while I'm on vacation.

ahh yeah it does sound bad ;)

It only makes sense they would but given they haven't so far, I wouldn't hold out hope.
