DDE card

Also, in case folks don't follow the AP website, the cost of the DDE card for AP holders is now $60.

Thanks for the info - I was going to ask if the price had gone up this year! I'll be waiting until August to get ours for our Sept-Oct trip this year. We had one with our AP's last year & used it on 2 trips - it is definitely worth getting!! :goodvibes

Just got off the phone from renewing my DDE card. Yes the price did go up to $60.00. Plus if you want to get a second card the price is $25.00 extra. :earsgirl:

Wow I did not realize that you got free valet!! Is that at all the resorts?

I did not know that either!!! COOL!!
We LOVE our DDE card we have saved SOOOOOOO much with this~!!

I did not know about the valet parking, either. DH will love that!

I want to verify something else... we are leaving in 9 days for our 12 day trip, so it will be our first time using DDE. After we return, we go back in 9 more days, for a trip with friends of ours. That will make us a party of 7. What we are planning is doing all eligible meals on one ticket, and using the DDE. We all plan to pay in cash, so they will just give us their part of the bill. Am I correct that you can use DDE for up to 8 people? I sure hope so, because they've budgeted around this!

The DDE card is good for up to 10 people.

I believe that only the food courts at the values accept the DDE card. This is due to the moderates all having a table service restuarant on-site. I was not able to use my DDE card at POR in June at the food court.

The food court at PO-French Quarters also accepts the DDE card because they have no sit down restraurant.

can you use the DDE card at POFQ food court to buy the refilable mugs?

You can't get a discount on the refillable mugs. Also Artist Pallate at SSR takes DDE right now because of the lack of a sit-down restaurant. No word if the new Turf Club will take it though.

When you use the DDE card do they ask for anything else (ie - your AP or any other identification). My parents have the DDE card but won't be eating all the meals with us so I just wanted to know if I could use the card when they are not eating with us.

Sometimes they have asked for a driver's license or other picture ID.

With family of ten last May we saved over $600 in one week.

Ok, what about this scenario?

One person has the DDE card, but it's another person (not a spouse) who pays for the entire meal. Can the DDE card be used, or does the card holder have to be the one who pays in order to use it?

The card holder does not have to be the person paying.

Ther are 12 of us going in August (2 families and 2 boyfriends). Ours (4) have AP and the rest do not. Obviously I cant (and shouldn't) cover 12 people with my DDE. Can my wife get a DDE to cover the rest (or 6 each), and if so is it only $25 more for the second card? Or should I just tell them to look into AP's also-they were planning 7 day passes. Thanks.

:confused3 We stayed at POR in April and they accepted our DDE card at the food court-including our refillable mug purchase. We even asked if they were SURE( call us crazy for even questioning it) because we had read that it was only accepted at food courts where there was no sit down, but they insisted( ::yes:: who were we to keep arguing?) Going back to POR in a few days so does anyone know who has been there recently if they are taking it in the food court?
We also have CRT reservations-can anybody verify if this restaurant has been removed from the DDE list for 2006? :confused3 Anyone know of any other changes?
Our experience with this card has been all good. It saved us lots on our last trip. My husband is the card holder, but they even sent me one with my name on it so I used it once or twice when I was at the food court without him. :sunny:

:goodvibes just checked the passholder site at disney. They have the updated price and an updated list and CRT is still listed-that is good news :sunny: neither POR or POFQ food courts were mentioned, but POR wasn't on the 1st list either. One thing I did notice was the absence of any listing for the All Star Resorts and I thought the food courts there did take it. Well any questions and I'm sure you could just call the DDE #

I thought CRT was removed. I read it somewhere, but I don't remember where, but calling DDE would be your best bet. The website isn't always accurate.

We were at POR from Nov. 27 to Dec. 5th 2005 and used the DDE card in the food court almost every single day! So it wasn't just one CM who didn't know, it was different people every day (and different times) and they all gave us the discount. They also applied the discount to the refillable mugs - and I was also surprised but the CM assured me the mugs were included.

My AP isn't current (we're getting new ones before our Sept trip) so, I can't access this info - you mentioned the All Stars - can anyone tell me if the DDE is still good at POP Century's food court? :)

It really comes in handy at the food court - we used the DDE for breakfast, lunch & dinner & also on the occassional late night snack - it really adds up after awhile! ::yes::
