I have an AP, but I am not going to renew. So my question is, if I buy a DDE card will I still be able to use it when my AP expires? Or do you have to show an AP to use it?

Your DDE expires independently from your AP. You can order your DDE a day before your AP expires, if you wish.

Enjoy! It's a great program.

Thanks for the info.

Never been asked for my AP with the DDE. BTW, ours expires on 3/31. Guess when our next "planned" trip is? Yep, 4/3! I emailed Rosa at DDE about renewal, she told me to wait till after2/7 to renew to get a later expiration than 1/31/07. Luckily DH has an AP that will sill be active then, mine expires on 2/2 and I plan to just buy vouchers rather than waste two months. I thought that was nice of her to tell me rather than let me renew early and lose some valuable time. SHe also said that their turnaround time is better now, hopefully no need for faxes this year :)

That was nice of her to tell you that. I just hope that I can get mine before my trip in 3 weeks. Also I have some friends coming with us, that are not AP holders. Can I buy a card for them to use?

I am loving my DDE card. We had never spent too much time dining at Disney (DD8 and myself - she not big on restaurants), but I got before the holidays as we planned two meals out while I had family visiting at Thanksgiving. It has paid for itself already. I particularly like that valet parking ($7) is FREE with the card. I have used that perk twice now visiting the resorts to see the holiday displays.

I had not heard of the card until I called to make ADRs for the evening of the MVMCP, and the CM was very sweet, and mentioned it to me.

I will be using it at Norway for the Princess b-fast on 1/22, GF at 1900 Park Fare for DD 9th birthday, Cape May Cafe on 2/10 for my birthday gift to myself a night at the Beach Club, and hmmmm - do I get a discount at CRT? That's the next ADR I need to make later this month when I get the holiday bills sorted out - I called today, and was going to go the beginning of May, and then realized it was pay in advance. I will wait a couple weeks as I am flexible and it does not matter if it is May, June, July or whenever!!

Wow I did not realize that you got free valet!! Is that at all the resorts?

Yes - If they have valet parking.... I have used it at GF and Boardwalk. I'm guessing not all have valet, but I have not spent too much time in the resort areas.

I ordered my DDE card on Dec 12th by fax, and got my card back in the mail Dec 21st.

We got a discount at dinner (server turned down DD's CM card - "sorry honey, no discounts at the castle." - but she did accept mine - "yes, DDE is the only discount we honor". Her attitude really annoyed me, but that's another story). Not sure about the princess things, though. I would think you would..... Also worked at Beaches and Cream, even though CM discount doesn't work there either.

No, the cards are for ap holders only & florida residents. That's why you have to have an ap to buy them. :flower:

That should work. The savings can add up fast.

First, does the new CRT still take the DDE card? I thought I read that it doesn't?

Second, I called and asked if my AP expires during my trip if I would have to renew my AP to use my DDE card and they told me yes and I called the DDE number direct not CRO. My DDE card expires the end of May, but my AP in mid June and our trip is mid June.

When you use the DDE card do they ask for anything else (ie - your AP or any other identification). My parents have the DDE card but won't be eating all the meals with us so I just wanted to know if I could use the card when they are not eating with us.

Yes we always had to deal with this too when hubby was a CM. However, I hear in 2006, the DDE card will not be honored at CRT anymore. Also, in case folks don't follow the AP website, the cost of the DDE card for AP holders is now $60.

I still have my DDE card, but since my annual pass expired, I can't get to the listing of restaurants that take the DDE. I know the food courts at the All-stars take the DDE, but do any of the food courts at the moderates take it? We will be at CSR this weekend, and I was wondering if I would be able to use it in the fast food area. I would appreciate a link if one is available outside the passholder web site. Thanks.

I believe that only the food courts at the values accept the DDE card. This is due to the moderates all having a table service restuarant on-site. I was not able to use my DDE card at POR in June at the food court.
