DDE Card...when to order??

Hi everyone,

I need some help here. DH & I have used the DDE card for the past few years and had it sent to us. Now I understand that you can pick it up/order it at Guest Services if I'm correct. We will be checking in beginning of October for two weeks. Our annual passes expire on October 12th. So, I'd like to order DDE with our Annual passes while I still can, but don't want to do it too far in advance so it won't expire when we are there. We will be there until October 27th(with our cruisetime thrown in). We will just be getting parkhopper passes when our Annual's expire.

So, bottom line is when to order DDE?

So are you checking in before Oct 12th? If so then go that day and get the DDE from guest relations. You can buy the DDE up until the day your AP expires.

Yes. We are checking in on Oct. 5th. I will buy it then.

Which guests services do you go to? Is it still the one at EPCOT only?

Our DDE exprired last July as well as our AP's. We will be purchasing new AP's at Shades of Green upon arrival next summer. Two years ago I had to go to the Disney store and purchase 1 regular priced AP so we could order it before we went.

Unless I can figure out a way to order the AP on base for the same price, I would rather wait till we are at Disney.

any guest services at all the parks and also in DTD.......this worked well for us when we went in May.......we got ours at Guest Services outside in MK

We just renewed ours two days ago in DTD. They told us when we called on the phone to renew that it would be better to do it after we arrived because it gives you about a month extra than if you ordered it and they have to take the time to process and mail it to you.

You can purchase the DDE at any guest relations at the 4 major parks including the back gate of Epcot. Also the guest relations at DTD have it for sale.

Previous poster correct in saying to wait until you arrive to get it. In the past the day you actually purchased it affected the expiration date.

For example, I purchased mine two days before my AP expired (I was not renewing it then) around May 23. The DDE card itself will not actually expire until June 30 of 2009.

I am not sure, but if you purchase it the first half of the month, it possibly will expire that same month of next year, instead of rolling over to the next month.

It worked out great for us because I got another AP on July 5 which will expire July 5 2009 and I will still be able to use the DDE (up until 6/30) for most of our trip next summer (May 24 - July 5).... Yes, we are planning to spend 6 weeks there!!!!
