DDE Card - what food courts accept this?

Forgive me but the search engine isn't working for me at the moment. What moderate hotels accept the DDE card at their food courts? Is it only the French Quarter that allows you to use it?

I know that I can use them at all the values because they have no sit down restaurants.

I have to book a room for our next trip and, believe it or not, this is our deciding factor. :rotfl:

I would call to double check about the value resorts. From what I ahve seen the new list does not show them anymore.

This is correct. The DDE card is no longer accepted at the value foodcourts, POFQ food court or SSR, like it used to be. Still accepted at the bars, but not the food courts. I don't know why they changed it, but when I saw that they were not listed on the list and there were some posts similar to yours, I called DDE and they confirmed that the list on the WDW website was correct.

I had heard that some people had used them at other foodcourts (like at WL, POR, CBR) and got the discount (most likely because the CM didn't have a clue what the rules were) and that's probably why they just said forget it, no food courts. Still good at CS in AK though.

The food courts at the value resorts are no longer included in DDE as of this month. :confused3

:sad1: I really liked using it at ASMo last Aug. Nearly paid the then $50 fee in that 3 day trip. I was really looking forward to using it at POFQ in May. Glad to know ahead of time that I won't be doing that!

ETA: I guess I'll just have to go the lounge there. :drinking1

We stayed at POP from 1/12 - 1/16 and were able to use our DDE card at the food court for breakfast all 4 mornings and for dinner one night. I had seen the new list that did not include the POP food court but read that others had been still able to use theirs and we were able to use it with no problem.

I've used the card at various food courts recently, I've not heard of any changes yet.

I just got back from POR and was able to use it at the food court. We used it everymorning for breakfast.

Well, I guess if they are accepting it, use it! POR has NEVER been on the list and if they are accepting it, there is something definately wrong there, but hey, their mistake right? I say hand it to the cashier and see what happens. The worst they can say is "we don't take this here" and you say "ok, sorry."

But, just so you know, the woman at DDE did tell me they were not accepting them at any food courts after Jan. 1. So, maybe the message hasn't gotten around yet, but I would go for it anyway. Or, I suppose they could have changed it back, but the list on the website hasn't changed.

We used it at the Pop food court earlier this month without any problems. The refillable mugs weren't included but they never questioned us with our food purchases.

I didn't know about the DDE not being accepted at Food Courts now. Good thing I read this post. That really stinks - we used it last year at POP and were planning on staying at ASMO or French Quarter this May and use it again. We were only thinking of staying at French Quarter because they took the card now we'll go to Riverside instead (if AP rates are good).

Oh well - I wish Disney didn't do things like that since it does affect people's choice of resorts.

Although POR is not listed we used it every time we ate at the food court last April/May. We even got the discount off our resort mugs. We had different CM's every time. Could they all be confused? :confused3 I say try it anyway, you never know. Just don't depend on it.

I just called DDE last week and was told that the discount is still available @ POP (sorry...didn't think to ask about the other food courts). This is so confusing!!! It's the only reason we bought the card, and the only reason we have ressies @ POP for a nine-day visit at the end of March.

On a side note, after I talked to the CM @ DDE I sent an email to the WDW website asking them why the food courts had been eliminated from the list currently posted online. I received a reply two days later assuring me the food courts were on the list...problem is the link they provided was for the DDP!!! I'm still waiting for a response regarding DDE.

This is the one and just about ONLY thing that aggrevates me about WDW. They are just so huge and have so many CM's that you ask a question 3 times and get 3 different answers! I think I will go email AllEars and see what Deb says about it.

I agree with nbodyhome I have not seen any changes.

I emailed AllEars and she said that she received her DDE card in the mail with an updated list. The food courts are NO LONGER on the official list.

I understand that some of you have used the card there and they accepted it. However, that doesn't mean that it is still officially accepted there. It just means that someone has made a mistake or hasn't gotten the word yet. If the food courts are accepting it, that's their problem, not ours. As you can see by clicking the link in the above post, AllEars has been updated to reflect the changes.

I just don't want anyone to be shocked if one day soon, you try to use it and they say "sorry, we can no longer accept the DDE card". I trust AllEars to report correct information, so this is what I am going to believe until I see otherwise.

Good luck to everyone going soon and please report back and let us know if you have any problems.

Just got back on Friday afternoon.....used the DDE at POP..no problems....no questions......I just checked out allears.......and all food courts for the value hotels are still listed.......either they didn't update the site....or the "rumors" are wrong.....no update needed.....DDE remains the same.....so now.....where does that leave us.....in a big dark hole withou an answer.......anone have official word??????

We were at AsMu this past Friday and Saturday and we used our card at the food court with no problem. :)
