DDE card purchase

Has anybody purchased DDE card at Disneyworld yet? I was wondering what kind of card they give you....plastic or paper? What does it look like?

It's made of the same material as APs...reportedly Tyvek. Same size as well. We carry ours in our AP sleeves now.

If you order in advance and have it shipped to you is it still plastic?

Mine was plastic. It expired in April. I did preorder it and received it by mail.

Yea I have one that expires this month and it's plastic. I'm wondering if since they started the policy of being able to purchase it there, would it still be plastic if preordered?

Mine expires this month and they generally send me a renewal notice to fax in for the new one. I have not received the notice. I wonder if they've stopped sending them now that you can get them at the parks.

It is my understanding that if you pre-order it, it's plastic. Otherwise it's just like an AP. You also get "more time" if you pre-order it. You can't use it until you get the card and it takes 4-6 weeks to receive it. Before, you could use the paper and they sent the card later--no more. At least that is my understanding.

Actually, you get the extra time with the ones purchased at WDW GS too which did pleasantly surprise me.

Yeah, isn't that a nice treat? I got mine the first week of January at Guest Services at Epcot, and it doesn't expire until the middle of February '09! Sweet little bit of Disney magic!

I DID NOT receive a renewal notice and mine expired last month.
