I have an AP voucher and am going to buy the DDE for our Sept trip. But, I don't need the AP for tickets (have unused ticket for this trip). Do I have to activate the AP to use the DDE card, or can I wait and activate the AP later for a Dec trip?

they'll let you buy the DDE with just the voucher. at least presently.

Just confirming what Bradk said. You can use your AP voucher number to order your DDE card.

And I do NOT have to show an active AP to use it at restaurants at WDW?

i feel dirty...

no, AP has never been a requirement for display when using the DDE. it's theoretically possible that your AP expires before the DDE does.

the only requirement is photo ID and that's virtually never asked for.

Why? I just want to wait and activate the AP for our next trip instead of this September. I'm still buying the AP and paying for the DDE card. My DDE will just expire before the AP does, so I'll have to wait until I renew the AP to buy my new DDE. But I will still get 2 trips out of the DDE at minimum and the use of my AP!
