DDE card.........a little confused?

I think i need some clarification here. When you purchase a Disney Dining Experience Card (DDE), over the phone or by mail only, do you get a full year to use that card, or, is the card is activated when you buy it? Since we won't be using it until 12/3-8 this year and want to use it again late next year, we don't want it activated until this December. Soooo, how is the card activated? Thanks, Bob

Generally they send the card and it will expire one year after the last day of the month you order- for example I ordered my card in May I got it in June it expires June 30, 2007. It has a general 3-6 week turnaround on orders. So I would order about a month out from when you want to first use it.

It is good as soon as you purchase it. It expires a year and a month or two later. If you order it 1/1/07 it will expire 1/31/08. If you order sometime after mid month, you get an extra month grace period...2/28/08. I've seen different dates for that midmonth mark....after the 10th, etc...

Order your card around Nov. 15 and it will be good till the end of Dec. the following year. You can order the day before you are to arrive and pick up a temp. card at Epcot Guess relations the next day. The Card itself will be mailed to you at home for your next trip. Hope this helps.

Yep don't order it until almost a month before you go. If you order it after the 5th of the month it will be good for 1 year from the next month. I ordered mine on 6/7/06 and mine is good until 7/31/07.

Thanks for the advice! We want to use the card the 1st night we arrive for dinner, (8 of us), and i really don't wanna go to Epcot to pick up anthing that day, so if I order like, 11/1 on the phone, will I get my card at home, by the day we leave 12/3? Bob

Our took about 10 days to arrive but ask the CM when you order it about the DEC expire date they will either tell you no problem or give you a date to order it to get the DEC expire date.

Order November 6th! Then it will not expire until 12/31/07. They are processed and mailed from Allentown, PA. You will have it by Thanksgiving.

That sounds perfect......but can you express mail the DDE card? I am one who needs to be sure I'll get it in time! (12/2)...... I have read recently that it has been taking 4-6 wks. to process them Bob

This was our situation last year, and it worked out fine. They will tell you when to order probably without you even asking, but ask anyway. Ours arrived in plenty of time.
