DDE and using the email. Just back

Last week there was a thread about getting temp. DDE cards at Epcot. Well when I got to Epcot's GR they told me they were only giving out letters not temp cards. I don't know if they ran out or what but everywhere I went accpeted my email without problems. We ate at ESPN Club, Sci-fi, Ohana's, Tambu Lounge (ok drank there). There was never a problem. In fact at Ohana's the CM said he preferred the DDE to what they as CMs are offered because the one they are offered has an automatic 18% tip added to undiscounted total. I personally tipped what I saved.

Just wanted to let all those that are worried you can still use that email.

Thanks DisneyWisher, that is good to know, with the way things are goinig with our mail, here at home, doesn't matter when disney sends the cards out I don't know if we will get them. The letter would be nice. Was there any castmember that wasn't familiar with it? We usually leave 20% tip anyway from undiscounted total.

Yes we certainly are neighbors though now I actually live in Coral Springs. Everyone that I came across knew what the email was. I just laid it on the table and each server that we had knew exactly what it was. They told me to just hang onto it til the end of the meal.

Regarding the tip I think the CM I came across was just upset that the tip was set. If he gets bad service they still get the 18% tip. How do you complain against fellow Disney Employees?

We just got back after 10 great days. We had to use the letter also, everyone knew about the letter and there were no problems with using it at all. It does have a couple of chocolate stains on it but that's just a good reminder of the trip. We also spoke to two CM's who said they get the DDE card because it includes alcohol and the CM discount doesn't. We had a net savings of $122.76 over the ten days. Can't wait for the Jan. trip.

ok, thanks. I just remember when a few cast members looked at the card and said um ok, let me check. I guess since it has become available to AP's it is more often used therefore more CMs see it and are now aware of it.

Can't wait to go in June and save lots of money.

PS Disneywisher my brother use to work in CS. it is about 30 min from us.

We also just got back from a 10 day trip and used the letter everywhere we could with no problems at all.... Loved that you could use it at the POFQ eating place since they don't have a sit down place to eat and that saved us a bundle each time we went.. I would say we saved well over $100.00 and probably close to $150.00 with being able to use it at the character meals too..

We just got back and also had great experiences with the DDE card. Our only surprise was that the Teppenyaki restaurant in Japan doesn't take the card. We were so used to each restaurant taking it, that it threw us for a loop. When we got back to our hotel and checked the list carefully, sure enough, that is the one restaurant not listed. Just FYI
