DDE and AP (Can I purchase at same time?)

If I want to get the DDE card for my upcoming trip, an am planning to get an AP at the airport, DD, or one of the parks; can I get the Disney Dining card at the same time?

No, you cannot get them at the same time. After you get your AP, call DDE to purchase the DDE card. They will then send a letter over to Epcot that you can pick up at the Guest Services window outside the gates.

We just did this on Tuesday (4-26) of last week. Went straight to DTD (got there approx. 10am) and got our AP's then called DDE. They told us our letter would be at Epcot anytime after 5pm that same day.

We did not get the phone number with our AP's.

The phone number for DDE is 407-566-5858 They are open Monday through Friday between 9am and 5pm.

So, if I am not going to get my AP until I get to Orlando, and my flight arrives after 5 pm, I cannot have the DDE plan until sometime the next day. Can I get it with a DDE with a voucher? I am going in 2 weeks, so I do not know what I can get in that amount of time.

People are reporting that they have been able to order the DDE with just an AP voucher. So if you purchase your AP in advance, once you get your voucher you can call and order the DDE. If you order the DDE at least 2* weeks before your departure date, they will send you a confirmation letter in the mail. If your departure date is less than 2* weeks away, they send your confirmation letter to Epcot for local pick up.

*I believe the cut off is 2 weeks, but call the DDE office to verify because they have been fine tuning their policy all year so it's best to check and be sure!

Any ideas how long it would take to get a voucher? My wife and I decided on this trip last Saturday, and since we are going again in December we are getting APs. I do not think that I could possible get the voucher in time before my flight in 2 weeks.

I just called a few hours ago asking if you can get the DDE with a voucher and the theM told me yes. But your DDE begins when you order it, not the first time you use it. So if you order today, it is good until early June 2006, which is 13 months. It would be better to call and order just before your trip and they will mail you the authorization letter. Hope this helps!

I've always bought APs on site so I don't know the answer to this. I seem to remember reading somewhere (maybe on www.disneyworld.com?) that you can request express delivery, but of course they will charge extra ($10? $20?) for that. Hopefully someone else will respond! Otherwise, try looking on the disney web site (under the section on "tickets" I think?)
