Can you use a DDE card to get the 20% discount on the AK food vouchers?

I have looked at my list for DDE participation and it is not listed. I highly doubt it but it doesn't hurt to ask when you buy them!

No. According to those who have asked, Disney's response is that the AK vouchers are already a good deal. No additional discounts ont he vouchers are allowed.

These vouchers are the Animal Kingdom vouchers the original poster is referring to. They can be purchased from the cashier at the Tusker House, Flame Tree Barbeque and Pizzafari. I believe they can also be purchased in advance at Guest Relations at the Animal Kingdom. The cost for an adult voucher is $11.99 plus tax.

The vouchers entitles the purchaser to three separate things. The first portion of the voucher is good for one entree and a beverage at one of the above-listed counter service restaurants and then you can use the second and third portions of the voucher to purchase either an ice cream treat or popcorn and either a bottle of soda or water from one of the carts in the Animal Kingdom ONLY. The vouchers have to be used on the day the are purchased.

If you are looking for the Quick & Casual vouchers. They are no longer available to the general public. They are being made (I believe) to certain groups through WDW, but that would be a question you would have to direct directly to Disney to find the exact response to. The Q&C vouchers that were available in the past expire at the end of this month - May.

Hope this helps. :flower:

Since sometimes actual experiences at Disney are different than stated policy, I thought I would post my DDE/AK meal vouchers experience.

When we were there in January 2005, you were *not* allowed to get the DDE discount when buying the Animal Kingdom meal/snack vouchers(as other posters have also statedl). However, we did go ahead and purchase the AK meal/snack vouchers because they are such a good deal on their own. The beverage/water that you get is even the full-size bottle & you can take it with you when you leave the park.

AK is the only one or the WDW theme parks that offer this program - I think it's one of the best food deals on Disney property.

agnes!

Since I received this answer, I went to the menus at allears and it looks like the AK vouchers are a better deal than the DDE card. I know in the past I always purchased the AK vouchers, but at least now I know what is a better deal between the vouchers and DDE.

Just to add, the AK vouchers will save a small amount of money over using DDE, but you can still use DDE for other things such as: water or side dishes as these are both served at the restaurants, etc... we did just this, and saved even a bit more money throughout the day!
