DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Hey, folks.
Suggestion for those of you with Netflix.
Over the last 2-3 nights, SWMBO and I watched the 7 part min-series Waco. Highly recommend.

10,345,298. It's a Small World
That high, eh? Each to his own. Someone should make a little skit about that ;)
You rated it much higher than I would. I can think of well over 20 million other songs I would rather hear,
Last to the party. First thing I thought "I wouldn't have rated it nearly that high."
There are several meat-processing or packing plants that have suffered outbreaks, and are severely understaffed.
ohhhhh...
A few of them closed. So now we have suppliers throwing out meat because they have nowhere to send it. And stores are struggling to get meat for the shelves. Couple that with panic buying and it's harder to find meat in general. A restaurant near us just posted a message that they can't serve burgers for now because they can't get ground beef.
Yikes! Not even burgers? Can America survive that????
Looks good, P, but it needs Bacon.
Bacon helps everything.
::yes:: I watched the Honest Trailer of Tiger King. It was funny. Never saw an episode though.
You're missing some weird stuff, I'll give you that.
What did you do to it? I didn't repair my torn meniscus in either knee, but still play tennis. When I overdo it, then I just rest it and I'm ok.
Just ran on it. Too much, I guess.
I'm watching Gold Rush, Parker's trail on discovery channel and the cameraman is from Great Britain. I swear he's saying "anyfing" instead of "anything". Cracks me up every time I hear him say it.
Funny story with that. When we first moved to GA, not long after, the man of the couple next to us (who essentially adopted us) died.
Your idea of "funny" varies quite a bit from mine.
Part of the number was four. I was told by her sister in law (my defacto aunt at that point) I was the sorriest sounding southerner...it's fo-wah not four.
:lmao:
My favorite is "If your family tree does not fork....you might be a redneck".
Others I really liked
If your house has wheels and your car doesn't, you might be a redneck.
If your porch collapses and kills more dogs than they have at the animal shelter, you might be a redneck.

And someone (might have been here, might have been in a TR) mentioned here's your sign (Bill Engvall).
Drove into a gas station with a flat.
Person there: Joo get a flat?
Bill: Nope, I was driving around and the other 3 swelled right up on me. Here's your sign.
:thumbsup2
Yep, he's from either London or Essex. I say anyfing. It was funny when thr boy was about 3. My missus is quite posh, and hopes beyond belief as I do that they grow up talking like her rather than me. One morning he came bowling into our bedroom with an empty sippy cup and said:

Mahm! D'ares nuffink in dare!

The shock on her face was legendary.
:rotfl2:
Have to give props to @pkondz Headset with AC/DC blaring is the only way to survive this ride.
Soul and sanity saver.
I always find myself singing Hi Ho on 7DMT.
 I do too!
I understand my supervisor wants to make a good impression with the bosses, but seriously, he needs to lay off and let those of us in the trenches do our job.
That is how you make a good impression.

that accent is West Country, over by Wales.

Not sure if this tells where he's from, but I looked him up. It's Danny Etheridge. I was trying to find a BIO to see if it said where he was from, but found his CV online. It says this:

9 xGCSE A - C
4 x A-Level A-C
2:1 BA Hons Media Southampton Institute
1 Year VT Operation TVI Soho
6 Years experience at a camera facility house at Shepperton Studios (Transmission TX)

12 Douglas Rd, Esher Surrey, KT10 8BB
dannyetheridge@me.com
Tel – 07796950583

And it's Wednesday and I survived one more round of layoffs. An hour phone zoom meeting to say that I'm safe to June 30. New contract negotiations are ongoing for July contract. It's good to know I can retire, but I'd rather keep my plan thru December and not try to push thru all the paperwork that quickly.
Good to hear the positive news for you :thumbsup2

All the camera guys and filmmakers live over esher way as its near Shepperton. Star wars/Batman/Potter fans among you will know those studios...
Weirdly... TVI used to be under my office in Wardour St when I worked for HMV.

Of that ride/song....absolutely! I would say guilty as charged, but considering I'm on the right side of the debate, that would make YOU guilty. :lmao:

So, put another way...as a take off of your username...

AMNOTAFAN!!!

Just because the majority disagrees with me doesn't make them right. A broken clock is right twice a day. :rotfl2:

It isn't my favorite but has happy memories. DD really enjoyed it when she was little, and I enjoyed spending time with her.

Last to the party. First thing I thought "I wouldn't have rated it nearly that high."

Still hating on IASW. No accounting for taste. :crazy2: I don't mind being in the minority. This is one of the theme songs of my life and explains much. https://www.madmusic.com/song_details.aspx?SongID=27031

For the record I can't stand the Biergarten Restaurant. The food is the wurst.

Morning fellas. But sunnier here today, but the rain, she's a comin'. Got to sneak round our local little Computer shop this morning, as he is technically shut, but the owner is a mate of mine and I'd rather give him the money than Mr Bezos (as much as I love you sir, I know you see everything, all hail our great leader) . We need a laptop for the kids, as this one PC between the 2 of them is really not working out as so much schooling is online, and it looks like they are going to be at home till at least mid June. Started drawing up the cut sheets for the arcade last night as sketches.

Nice one there :thumbsup2

I'm with ya mate, my 6 year old loves it. I have to sit in that boat at least 4 times every vacation. And that includes the cheeky runs to Paris.

I'll see if we can get that one, but I'll be watching that on my own the Lady K doesn't do documentaries. Waco kind of passed us by over here. Whereas the OJ trial didn't. And there was probably less than 10,000 people in the UK who knew the reason he was famous wasn't the Naked Gun films.

Mornin' Gents! It was an absolutely beautiful day yesterday, not sure what today's going to bring, but I suspect it's going to be raining....I saw something about that once. Well, I have to be inside working, so who cares if it's raining. Ok, my wife cares because having a 7 year old cooped up in the house for weeks on end is getting to her. Work wise yesterday was pretty good day, so nothing to report. Have a good day, everyone.

I couldn't hear it...it wanted me to create an account to listen.

BTW...Biergarten may be wurst, but also schnitzel and potato salad and all kinda other yummy things.
;)

Maybe that's the difference...my kids didn't fall in love with it (THANKFULLY), so I don't have those memories or obligations. Now Everest and space mountain and BTMRR, those are different stories. I raised my kids right. ;)

Oh yeah, I can totally understand that. We have our 22 yo son living with us right now, but he is working (and those other 15 years make a big difference). Still, we're all going a little stir crazy, but then again...I'm counting my blessings...none of us have gotten it, I still have my job and other than being cooped up with DW (did I say that?), all is good.

Morning folks. Bit chilly ride in this morning (5C/41F), but supposed to be up around 20C/68F when I leave this afternoon.
First ride in to work of the season. (But not first ride of the season.)

While it's based on a couple of books, it's not very much like a documentary.
Unless she feels the same about movies like Escape from Alcatraz, The Imitation Game or Catch Me If You Can.

I don't think you need to know the history of the event to enjoy the series. At least I don't think so. There was a fair bit that I didn't know... But a fair bit that I did, too.
I couldn't hear it...it wanted me to create an account to listen.
In the top left corner, there's a play button that lets you hear a 20 second snippet.
No bike (real bike, not bicycle) ride today.
You get out pretty often?

I prefer my taters hot. Schnitzel is just country fried steak and we do that better in KY. Father-in-law really liked it so when we traveled with them we always had to eat there. SWMBO always wants Cape May Cafe, and the kids wanted Chef Mickey.

Mornin' dads from a rainy, chilly Orlando.

Chilly? You mean like upper 60's? :sad2: I talked to my folks last night and WNY still has a chance of flurries in the forecast for the weekend. I remember a few times in May growing up when there was still snow in the woods and then it would start again as early as October.

Thanks for the suggestion. Is it a documentary or a movie about the events?

Been trying to watch Ozark at a friend's suggestion. It's ok, but it feels like a pale imitation of Breaking Bad.

Yikes! Not even burgers? Can America survive that????

I doubt it. Our society is crumbling before our very eyes!

That kind of thinking is how Shakespeare In Love won the Oscar over Saving Private Ryan. :sad2:

Good on you for supporting the little guy, though.

Nice! Hope it was an enjoyable one. We're supposed to get an inch of rain today.

You get out pretty often?
Yep. When I wasn't doing social distancing and WFH, I was riding just about every day to/from work.
Went on a ride to the beach with DW the other day because she wanted to get out of the house.
I won't say how fast I went, but suffice it to say, glad there weren't any police in that stretch.

If you've never had warm (or hot) German potato salad, you haven't lived. ;) Schnitzel is, in my experience, more often country fried veal or pork, although steak is possible. Try Garden Grove next time...it's at the Swan. I think it's better than Cape May Cafe mostly for price, but also they have steak, which for me is fantastic. Hmmm...just looked at their menu and I'm not seeing the seafood buffet...wonder if they stopped.

Yes as in upper 60s. Flurries in April...exactly why I DON'T live further north. Y'all can keep it. I'm okay dealing with hurricanes...at least the water is liquid form.

Good good morning all.

It is a chilly 57 degrees (chilly to a FL born, TX living thin blooded guy), but supposed to be nothing but blue skies and sunshine all day here in Houston. Work has given us a paid day off to help keep the numbers low at work since there isn't much going on at IAH (or any other airport). Now I am a fan of having days off, and I love my wife very much, but something needs to change. Either I need to go back to work (currently have 4 days off 3 regular, one paid day, perks of working graveyard), or she needs to work more, which wont happen because her hours were cut too. Perks of that though is my garage is getting real organized, to the point where I could get some more work done on the 1966 mustang I am rebuilding! The downside to that is I dont have the extra funds coming in to actually do a lot that needs to be done to it. So today's project will be to get some $.99 white spray paint cans from Lowes, and do a fresh coat of paint on our patio furniture. Yard needs a mowin, but with the rain that we had yesterday, that won't happen. In Houston, it takes a couple days of warm weather and sunshine to dry my yard. We have too much clay!

Top O the Mornin and Happy Friday Eve Dads! Hope all are doing well and staying safe!

WDW top 3 list for today is ........................ Top 3 retired Attractions (attractions nighttime spectaculars and parades excluded)
