DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Morning gents.
Busy days...

Not the “designated diver”? :rolleyes1:rolleyes1
works too.

Sorry about the So Far, working on game plan to hopefully retire early myself. "The life of" Randall thing looks really darn good.

Yeah... not gonna happen for me. Not early, anyways.

Used quotes there as several of the old timers should get the reference, we miss you CJ.

Amen.

New fireworks show coming to MNSSHP and gonna have more projection effects so guessing more like HEA - Norm is not gonna like this.

I might not either. I'm willing to wait until I see it before passing judgement, but... You're messing with the best night time show in all of Disney. Ever.

I'm not gonna like it either. I don't like HEA...the projections detract more than help and are not at all my favorite.

Agreed! I want to just relax and put my head back and enjoy the show. Now I've got to be nodding up and down like I'm bobbing for apples. I want to enjoy the show... not work to see it.

Hope all are doing well. Anyone hear from Rob? Not going back to see what all I missed. When I read something about Norm and his better half having fun with pickles and balls I skipped right on.

Finally the end of meeting season and it was a long one. My colleagues and I have decided that we are finally going to take advantage of technology and present remotely whenever possible. I don't enjoy talking to a web cam but it sure beats 6 hours on the road for a meeting with 3 people at it. I need to do them standing though. My last one ran 2.5 hours. I've turned into one of those old guys I made fun of who could put up a single slide and talk for an hour.

Tonight is the school formal. DD went to her first one. Her date was shaking trying to get the corsage on her wrist. Guess making it known I have access to heavy equipment and 10,000 remote acres worked. DS went to work at the golden arches instead. He takes after me and doesn't have time for such nonsense if there is a buck to be made. Good news on his schooling as well. I found a way for him to attend the local college next year and get credit for his senior year in high school at the same time. Just has to take an art history class this summer online. Gets him out of his school and I don't know if he or the administration is happier. Also, it will let him get his first stripe quicker when he enlists in the Air Force. Now I just need to go in the back yard and pick money off my money tree.

Morning guys from a chilly London.

Agreed! I want to just relax and put my head back and enjoy the show
That’s what she said.
Now I've got to be nodding up and down like I'm bobbing for apples
That’s what she said.

That’s what she said.
Anyone hear from Rob?
I checked in with him a couple of weeks ago, he’s hangin’ in.
Now I just need to go in the back yard and pick money off my money tree
If you could send me over a branch, that would be awesome.
Good news on his schooling as well.
Good stuff. All the best to the young un, and I hope your DD had a great formal.

Have a great day chaps.

Morning gents.
Packing on the agenda for today, to leave room for last minute items tomorrow.

When I read something about Norm and his better half having fun with pickles and balls I skipped right on.

Probably for the best.

Finally the end of meeting season and it was a long one.

Read that as "mating season" and was gonna give you an attaboy for making it a long one.

Tonight is the school formal. DD went to her first one. Her date was shaking trying to get the corsage on her wrist.

:lmao:

Guess making it known I have access to heavy equipment and 10,000 remote acres worked.

Smooth dad move.

That’s what she said.

Incorrect. That would be (hopefully) what I said.

That’s what she said.

correct

That’s what she said.

Again... I'd prefer it to be what I said.

Just drinking coffee and watching the F1 race.

Hope to catch that later today. Recording it.

Hello gents, hope all are well. Not much to report this weekend. DW and DD19 have been working most of the weekend - one of the benefits of part time retail work. So I’ve been Mr. Mom, doing laundry, picking up groceries, cooking supper. Fun times.
I’ve been wanting to see Avengers Endgame but it’s too crazy for me yet. I usually wait until the second week at least before seeing a new movie. It’s tempting to go now though since I’ve been hearing so much good about it.

That’s what she said.
Dan wins the “that’s what she said” award this week

Halifax this afternoon
Enjoy your meet up. I hope the weather is better than the 2C RDF we have here today.

Packing on the agenda for today, to leave room for last minute items tomorrow.
I always hate packing, even though it’s for something good.

Yes, I meant DD and pretty sure that's what I typed and my phone changed it on me (not that my phone does that often at all :sad2:)

;)

I did that too. Now, that master list is a lot shorter.
Oh? Why?

I don't mean for Disney. That's obvious. But... did you mean you list for general travel is shorter?

Pretty girl there Doc. Time to stock up on some #00 Buckshot. Hope her prom went well.

If you could send me over a branch, that would be awesome.

I'd send everyone a branch if I could. We could have our own slum in Golden Oak and take turns letting Norm park his RV in front.

Good stuff. All the best to the young un, and I hope your DD had a great formal.

She was shocked to learn that her date expected her to dance with him all night. Said she is going by herself next year. Mission accomplished.

Read that as "mating season" and was gonna give you an attaboy for making it a long one.
:lmao:

Been married 24 years in a couple of weeks. Enough said right there. :sad2:

Morning gents. Retirement seminar today. Interesting stuff so far.

“So far” also describes how long it is until retirement

For me, "so far" 3 years - if Governor Thanos loses.

Right. That's it. I'm calling it. Work week over. Everybody out. In honour of our Nautical Chief and our Soggy Brethren north of the 45th, last one standing in the Stillwell Bar in Halifax, NS gets to take Ariel home. And let me tell ya, the "blowfish" is a speciality of hers. But be careful, her Snarflaps may have Crabs. Don't say I didn't warn ya.

Have a great weekend fellas.

I would have thought you would have made a reference about Ariel playing with one's dinglehopper.... :scared1::lmao:

Top O............ aaaahhh who am I kidding this late on a Friday is first chance I get to breath - something wrong with this picture. Any of you guys see Nashville come out for the draft last night, holly crazy and gonna be bigger tonight and tomorrow. With multiple concerts and a marathon tomorrow they are expecting 600,000 hitting the city! It's great for the city but I'll watch from the couch. Seeing End Game tomorrow morning to keep from spoilers as me and DS won't see together till next Saturday as he comes home for the summer next week. He saw it last night and said it is even better than the hype. Have a great weekend with the families guys!

I imagine Nashville was rocking. Going to see Endgame Monday.

New fireworks show coming to MNSSHP and gonna have more projection effects so guessing more like HEA - Norm is not gonna like this.

I had not heard this, and it's not sounding good. MNSSHP was my last favorite fireworks show.

So, the pub quiz question:
“What football team was the first to beat both Arsenal and Dirty Spurs in their new Stadiums”

Has only 1 answer.

COME ON YOU IRONS!!!!!!

I already answered you on Facebook.

Hope all are doing well. Anyone hear from Rob? Not going back to see what all I missed. When I read something about Norm and his better half having fun with pickles and balls I skipped right on.

Just make sure point the webcam up if your standing. Otherwise, they will be looking at your pickle & balls.

DD had prom last night

Great pictures.

I'd send everyone a branch if I could. We could have our own slum in Golden Oak and take turns letting Norm park his RV in front.

Sounds great to me. Although, if you get branches, you could at least build me a small guest quarters in the back.

DD had prom last night.
She looks lovely Doc, I hope she enjoyed it.

Is work calming down?
I wish, but not really. I'm hoping for a "manageable" week coming up.

I did get an invite to a Houston conference at the end of May. It will likely be a fair bit of extra work, but at least it's a change of scenery for a few days.

;)

I don't mean for Disney. That's obvious. But... did you mean you list for general travel is shorter?
I meant for Disney. It's typically magic band, water bottle and depending on time, sunscreen.

Pretty girl there Doc. Time to stock up on some #00 Buckshot. Hope her prom went well.
Thank you sir. Trust me, I have a shotgun and I know how to use it. ;)

There are some houses for sale in my neighborhood. Y'all could just be my neighbors.

She was shocked to learn that her date expected her to dance with him all night. Said she is going by herself next year. Mission accomplished.
Silly boy. Obviously not old enough to find out what he expects matters not.

Been married 24 years in a couple of weeks. Enough said right there. :sad2:
Congrats!

Just had our 33rd...see above comment about being old enough.

Hey guys. I just finished off my first trip report (Yes, I have slowly been working on it for months).
I figured I would ask here what you do when you finish a trip report, I suppose at least @pkondz or @Captain_Oblivious would know. I noticed there's a board for "Completed Trip Reports". Am I supposed to move it there or ask a Mod to move it there? Not sure how that part of it should work.

A couple of you have been reading along, but I know a few of you jumped in on my report a while ago part way through. Well, it's finally done. If any of you feel so inclined to read about my little adventure and get to know may family a little, please feel free to stop by. But also don't feel any obligation - trip reports are not for everyone, nor does everyone have the time to read. If you do stop by, I suggest you make use of the chapter links in the table of contents to avoid all the chatter in between.

For me, "so far" 3 years - if Governor Thanos loses.

So.. hoping he loses, then.
3 years. hardly any time at all!

I would have thought you would have made a reference about Ariel playing with one's dinglehopper.... :scared1::lmao:

Thought so. :)

You can do one of two things.... You can ask a mod to move it... and they will... and if people haven't replied to it yet... they won't be able to. So leave it for a while.
Second thing is... just forget it. A mod will move it eventually anyways.

Morning chaps from Lego Towers.

I would have thought you would have made a reference about Ariel playing with one's dinglehopper....
We've already done that one. I've been doing this for 2 years now, which is 100 denegrations of 11 Princesses' virtue. Gags are going to start to be recycled, so it's good to know that they will land like new ones.
She was shocked to learn that her date expected her to dance with him all night. Said she is going by herself next year. Mission accomplished
As others have said, what men expect to happen and what transpires rarely occupy the same space, when it comes to the fairer half of the planet.
Is there a female equivalent of "going stag"?

Have a great day fellas.

Yes, actually...DD (yay phone didn't "fix" it this time) did that. She went with 3 of her girlfriends. Not sure about the other 3, but DD's current love of her life is in GA and she's planning on going back to visit when she graduates high school and before college.

Hey fellas!

Just spent a week in California and had a great time. Weather was perfect--clear skies and 75 degrees F every day. I think Yosemite National Park lived up to the hype. San Francisco was a neat city except for the traffic and the overzealous cop who gave me a ticket. Time to start earning for the next vacation now. Anyway, I'll assume you guys have solved all of your problems while I've been gone so I don't need to go back and check on anything.

I usually do the second thing, myself.
