DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Happy Wednesday. It rained a 40 year flood of water last night and we are in for another soggy day. Looking forward to tennis tonight, but may need a boat to get me there.

Are the standby lines still backed up for FoP? I think the Safari and EE ride lines were shorter last trip as everyone was in FoP line.

Still working on it. A lot will depend on what Governor Thanos does with this retirement bill. Sadly, that's the only benefit of working here now. I can probably find a low paying job with terrible insurance in Florida somewhere.
You could get a job at Disney. Not sure how they pay, but I've heard their medical is great.

Morning all.

Heat wave has ended but we're not as cold as we were, much more seasonal today.

One week from today I will be off to beautiful Red Deer, Alberta for 18 days at the Canada Winter Games. It was -40 there a couple of days ago, it better warm up before we get there.

Yes, thought about that. Disney for insurance and teach tennis for extra cash. Don't know how flooded the market is in Florida though.

The FOP standby line stayed at 160 min most of the day.We useed the FP modify to get 4 more FPs for FOP.

Yeah, that's bad. But, we took advantage of that to ride Kilomajari Safari. That is my favorite ride at all of WDW, especially when the animals are up and running about.

I met the tennis coach for UCF (near where I work). Ended up buying a couple of recliners from him and his wife. No promises, but I could check and see if he needs/wants others.

It was. I had to wipe away a tear (in a manly sort of way of course). @declansdad Rob and his family live not far from you. I've met you both. Both good people. I strongly suggest y'all meet up some time. I'm even toying with the idea of a vacation up to Canada next summer (definitely won't be in the winter...I'd need at least 20 - 25 layers then). :rotfl2: Will have to get @Terra Nova guy and @pkondz in as well. Maybe a marathon driving trip like @pkondz does.
Let us know when you are coming. I don't think @Zmack is that far from me so we should all be able to meet up.
Doc, it's interesting you should mention that. I'm mulling over the idea of a vacation in the Maritimes this summer. I haven't decided and have to figure out vacation from work, but maybe it will happen. We will have to keep each other posted on plans.

Being at the games would be fun, but I certainly hope the temperature improves. Although they say it's a dry cold and that's supposed to be better.

Morning Guys,

Not a bad morning so far but rain and freezing rain in the overnight forecast makes tomorrow sound a bit iffy. I hate driving in that crap.

A few meetings today and lunch for a leaving employee, should be a good day.

Have a good one all!

Let me know if you plan to get over this way, I'm sure we can meet up for a pop or two.

This will be my 8th games, I coached at 3 and this will be number 5 as a member of our mission staff. They are a lot of fun, especially without the pressure of coaching.

Happy Thursday. Survived tennis last night and am really sore this morning. It only hurts when I move.

+5 on Monday, +10 yesterday....a new record!!

We go from 60 this morning to 19 after sunset. :furious:

Too soon, but I'll keep you in mind. Thanks for looking out for me. I've checked UCF for other jobs, hoping my KY experience would translate as well. Working at Disney/ tennis sounds more fun. Also, Disney contracts out with different tennis pros. I don't know if there is a Disney Ethics Department, but could I be a CM and refer myself on off days. :lmao:

Drinking rum again?

That would imply he ever stopped drinking rum.

Evening everyone. We had a great day at DAK. It got quite warm today and we are all feeling it. Tomorrow is a sleep late day then hangout at the pool relaxing, We are going to DAH in the evening.

I don't know DAH either. But, I do enjoy those days off at the resort at the pool.

Guys, I really really REALLY hope ya'll don't think I'm gloating, because that's not who I am, but I am sooo stinking happy being here and being able to meet up with folks. Rob's little girl is a sweetheart and it's no surprise, considering her parents. I've enjoyed all my meets, but that little girl blew me away last night. I never expected anything like that, which is what I think made it all the sweeter.
Some more DISdad pixie dust Doc. And by the way, save some of that 80's temps for week of March 10 will ya, thanks

Sounds like a blast being a sports geek as DW would call me. 18 days on the road though, that's a tough stretch. Doesn't Declan have playoffs coming up for one last run?
