Morning chaps from a drizzly overcast London.
Looking forward to watching our strategically shaved chimps who pass as leaders getting on their "conscience" high horse, as they have been temporarily inconvenienced in lining their pockets. A large percentage of them hanging off some kind of pole contraption on Tower Bridge would be a good start in fixing the ills of this once great nation.
I give our PM a 30% chance of making it to Xmas in a job. Which is a shame, even though I don't agree with almost anything she says, she was handed an absolute hospital pass and make the best job she could out of it, which a bunch of snivelling posh boys sniping from the sidelines, as they don't have the cajones to put their head above the parapet, looking to do her down at almost every turn.
Rant over. Apologies.
Hallelujah. Holy ........Great rant!
Go on then, I'll bite. What tunes did you have on?
Any "angry 90s chick" tunes carry a yellow card and a 2 day suspension, mind.
Hi Paul, I'm going on a boat...
Actually there is a band I'm really into right now called the Mountain Goats, they have like 10 albums on Amazon music so I just worked my way through a bunch of them. Think I also listened to the new Decemberists album, the crazy indie band Rainbow Kitten Surprise, and some classic Genesis. That is really my true joy when I get the house to myself for a few minutes here and there, just blasting my kind of music (while I drink beer in my underwear of course).
I work in the Air Navigation industry.
I had to take my youngest DD for a dentist apt, so I switched my day shift to an evening shift. But that meant I worked 3pm - 11pm on Tuesday, then after a short night, back at work at 6:30am - 2:30pm... raced home, grabbed the same kid for a 3:15 eye appointment, followed by shopping and then cooking dinner. Ate, watched a bit of TV now I'm getting ready to head back to work for a 10:30pm - 6:45am shift.
But this sort of thinking led us to Jumbo Shrimp and bacon as garnishes in cocktails. So its not all bad. But also gave us Pineapple on pizza. Which is an abomination.

The sunset tree is a pretty good album, but I kinda stopped there. Might give it another spin.Actually there is a band I'm really into right now called the Mountain Goats,
Post Gabriel?and some classic Genesis.
Well that sucks. Take care buddy. It's only November for Pete's sake.
I've heard really good things about the Mountain Goats - the Night Vale folks have a podcast out about them, "I Only Listen To The Mountain Goats". Haven't gotten around to giving them a serious listen yet, might do so today.

Post Gabriel?
Both! Back in college I was all/only Gabriel when it came to Genesis, and even kind of resented Phil for breaking up the band so to speak, but my one prog-rock buddy always said the first few after Peter left were still pretty good, and years later I finally came around on the late-70s and 80s stuff.

I liked Genesis as a kid, mostly Phil era - Abacab as one of the first LPs I owned, and Invisible Touch was my first CD.
Great stuff. Really both Phil Collins and Peter Gabriel are among my very favorite musical artists of all time. I just saw Phil live ("Not Dead Yet!") here in town, and the most amazing part was that his 17-year-old son played drums (and piano) on their worldwide tour! Phil just limped in and sat on a stool the whole time, but his voice is still strong. My best mate's dad always taught me that the drums were over emphasised in the Phil era of Genesis as he was doing a lot of the production as well. I really don't notice it, but he was adamant. I've been listening to a bit of Gabriel solo stuff in the last month or so as well.
Someone needs to tell Mother Nature to take a PMS pill or something! It's only November for Pete's sake.
I couldn't follow that. Can you translate Canadian to American? Good thing I'm not in the Air navigation industry.
And politicians never did anything to help anyone, except themselves to more money.
Well played and great scenes from a great movie.Great rant!
Be safeWell, school cancellation call came at 5 AM. That is so considerate. And, roads were clear by 8 AM. We refuse to do an hour delay. Sadly, there are a few hundred without power.
DVC / Dis Web rant coming so feel free to read ahead...... Could be user error as I was unaware. But what a moronic make no sense policy. Got up early prior to leaving for MCO this week on my 7 month booking window. We were targeting Copper Creek but went to not available the day before 7 month so decided on BCV for the pool and we have been at BWV last two trips. So I log in at 8:00 eastern to book June 14-23 9 nights for BCV and it keeps telling me my window does not open until November 14 - NO $ hit sherlock as it is November 14 So I'm in car on way to airport and keep trying to book getting same message and then BCV is now not *^%@% available! I get through MCO security and call DVC to find out that you cannot book more than 7 nights on your 7 month window, WT....... news to me so maybe user error but been a DVC member for 10 years and never had this come up and I know I've booked more than 7 nights. So I get BWV which is fine but then I now have to go in additional mornings to add days one at a time rolling the dice that BWV is available to extend our stay. What kind of moronic policy is this? And does the website reference that you are "exceeding eligible number of nights?" Heck no, it references that your booking window does not open until the day youare in it!
Oh you want to stay more than 7 nights and spend poop tons of money at our parks and resorts .............." "No, allowing you to book 9 or 10 nights all at once would be too easy for you our customer so we will put you through all this carp." Like I stated, I may have missed this policy but it is still the dumbest
Happy Friday Eve Dads!

Thus, the whole "walking" reservation bit people use near Christmas & Easter to make sure they get those holidays.
Our shifts in the stores were a Liz, a Sharon, or the dreaded Leo. I'll let that tick over in your mind. First one to name all 3 correctly gets a box of mint matchmakers sent to their house.we refer to our shifts as day, eve or mid.
I caught a little of that debate. Of course I don't know the fine details of it all, but it doesn't seen like an easy situation and likely anybody put in that Brexit situation would have been doomed. I did like the PM's sass when some dude asked if she was going to resign and she just stood up with a curt "no" and sat back down.I give our PM a 30% chance of making it to Xmas in a job.
Preach sister!Someone needs to tell Mother Nature to take a PMS pill or something! It's only November for Pete's sake.
I think you're doing it wrong.then I get a day off.
Except I work 8 hours on that day.
Sorry to hear about the troubles. I'm not DVC so I don't know the rules, but just looking at it from the outside, it seems like a PITA. No snow for me (yet) but it was so windy it blew the milk out of my tea.Hopefully Darcy and Jeff can see out their windows and are not snowed under.
