DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Morning guys. Watching the Florida/Kentuckyn game from last year. Sorry Norm.

5 days until I can make my ADRs for DDCC7 trip!!

Have you been able to access the group meals during DDC? We have a few get togethers planned.

Is this PM match between Brazil vs Belgium going to decide the World Cup? Belgium is the super team, but Brazil is the favorite.

Probably. My money is on Belgium.

Still having a heat wave heat wave up here today but it is suppose to rain so maybe that will help. While I was in Ottawa the AC in the office was fixed so that should help.

Read how bad it is up there and people have died because of it. Glad the office AC is fixed.

Should be an interesting game. I wonder how many times Neymar will roll across the field today? I hope he got over that gun shot wound from the last match.

I heard he was fine. That is until someone touches him on the field. Damn Drama Queen, hope he gets a red card for bad acting. Of course that isn't going to happen.

Yes. I realized I'm one of the few (if not the only) who doesn't do FB, but not sure why they couldn't post 'em (not to be confused with postum) here too. Anyhoo, between Darcy helping me out with info, being able to connect to the youtube channel, getting on groupme and at least being able to view the FB page, yep.

The question really is, at this point, how many should I make it for and for that I'm trying to coordinate with Adam since they're going even earlier than me and so they'll be making ADRs on the 9th.

BTW: Looking forward to meeting you (and Randall and Darcy). Don't think I've heard anyone else from this motley crew that's going, so if I missed anyone, it was not deliberate.

I'm always ready for a Disney vacation.

Went to the outlaws last night and ate dinner with BIL for first time since divorce. When he presented his wife with the divorce, he gave her two options. #1 Give her full custody of the kids, she moves back to Pennsylvania with her family, 1/2 amount recommended child support, & none of his police retirement. They have no money or assets other than cars his mother bought for them. Option #2 was for her to stay here, he would fight her for custody, not make child support or child care payments, etc and make her life hell. He started calling her work (not her cell) 5 to 10 times a day. Yeah, he's the police. What is she going to do?

So, she took 1/2 the money and went back home. FIL has had professional cleaners in the home he bought for them, removing trash they were too lazy to throw away. FIL is so worried about the house and continued drain on his retirement funds, he sold the house quickly, and will take a $10,000 loss on the sale, not counting what he was out on down payment and cleaning fees. He said they paid rent while they lived there.

So, after shattering two families, he complains about how awful his ex-wife is and how terrible of a parent she is at dinner. I really wanted to ask why he gave up his children to someone he thinks is so terrible? I didn't. Maintained the peace.

Even though I'm dealing with girl teenage hormones, I am thankful today for my family.

Wow. The guy sounds like a real piece of work.
Smart move to keep quiet. I just heard a comedian say something to that affect. Something about when someone says something really stupid and you feel like correcting them but you know it will result in a long conversation that ultimately won't change their mind anyway? So instead if he keeps quiet, he rewards himself with ice cream.

Morning guys. Got about 3 hours of sleep last night so I guess things are back to normal. Do wish they evened out a bit. (sorry about the sleeping update).

Heh. You sound like me. Except last night I got almost 7 hours. 7 hours! That's unheard of.

The oldest two stopped having much to do with him.

Smart move, kids!

hope he gets a red card for bad acting. Of course that isn't going to happen.

I wish they would do that. Use video review when a player is shot. "Oh, look. No one touched him. Red card."

Yes. I realized I'm one of the few (if not the only) who doesn't do FB,

Me too, pretty much. Or at least very, very little.

Don't discount France. Or Uraguay to be fair.

Over here and generally in the football playing world, he has been taken to the cleaners over the Mexico roll. He even had to come out and defend himself, so if he's got any self respect, that will be the last of it.

None in this Province that I know of but there have been around 35 in Quebec I think. I know they were very worried about the heat in Ottawa on Canada Day and moved a lot of the festivities indoors.

I was up there Wednesday and Thursday and the temperatures were over 100F each day.

He has spent 14 minutes rolling around so far.

Here is the itinerary so far, subject to change of course. The group meals are highlighted. They have a spreadsheet on the DDC page and Darcy or I would be happy to add you to any of the meals there. Adam and Terry are handling the reservations so once you are on the list, they will take care of it.

I've met Darcy (he does have a great wife and son) and of course know myself so don't get your expectations up. One thing you need to know, Randall is a hugger. Consider yourself forewarned.

Looking forward to it.

Ain't that the truth. Waiting for my 60 day mark for the October trip so I can get fast passes.

Heh. You sound like me. Except last night I got almost 7 hours. 7 hours! That's unheard of.

Bad insomnia. Been like that since I was a teenager. Earlier this week I got 7 hours in and my body was saying, "What has had happened?" Stumbled around for about an hour trying to get my bearings.

I wish they would do that. Use video review when a player is shot. "Oh, look. No one touched him. Red card."

Yep.

Don't discount France.

Hopefully Uruguay will take care of the cheese eaters today but not looking good so far.

Same here for the few WC fans. Was going to watch the England game at a watering hole but unfortunately it is the earlier game.

Saw that, sad story. Heatstroke is nothing to scoff at. Down here at least, we are prepared for it.

He has spent 14 minutes rolling around so far.

Wait until today. That number is sure to go up.

Glad to know that I was judged by my spouse and son. ;)

Seems to happen every summer in Quebec, although maybe not to that extent. You would think they would be better prepared as well.

I hate the French. Not the country. love their wine and food, but the national team. One second it is, "He almost touched me, I'm dying." Two seconds later he bounces up and is ready to fight someone. Someone needs to kick their a$$.

Glad to know that I was judged by my spouse and son. ;)

True. Somehow you duped her into marrying you and the kid turned out well. You did something right.

Happy Friday. Cut the grass. That with tennis yesterday has made by knee hurt again. Really looking forward to this afternoon's match.

Should be an interesting game. I wonder how many times Neymar will roll across the field today? I hope he got over that gun shot wound from the last match.

:lmao: The only complaint of men's soccer I have - all the flopping & fake injuries. Still a better product than the NFL.

Morning guys. Watching the Florida/Kentucky game from last year. Sorry Norm.
.

No problem. If you are wanting to go back in time and count vs or championships, I think the Wildcats have your Gators - just not in football. :sad2:

I won't be available to consider another ddcc for 4 more years until the youngest is out of HS.

I rewarded myself with bourbon.

France has a good team. Mbappe is special to watch. You not giving England a chance?

Yep, I added my info to the spreadsheet last week.

I am too...how I was raised, so no problem at all. I have figured out not to hug folks unless they're okay with it though, so glad you're okay with it. :lmao:

Looking forward to it.
As am I

I could have posted that too, but since I'm not on FB, I didn't know if it was verboten.

Never done Jiko and not a big drinker, so I think I skipped that one. On the other hand, might be able to do it without the wine tour part and just hang out...dunno.
Biergarten....I've got one word......Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!
Picnic at house, it's possible I'll make some bacon wrapped asparagus since I was threatened of that possibility.
Never eaten at the wave, but have breakfast scheduled there in Sep, so will see how lunch/dinner compares
Not gonna make CA grill. I'll either be leaving Sat night or Sunday morning to head home. I'm coming in a couple days early and leaving before the marathon part.

Good first half.

You would almost think they were Brazilian.

By far the two worst floppers.

No problem. If you are wanting to go back in time and count vs or championships, I think the Wildcats have your Gators - just not in football. :sad2:

Yes, you have us in BB, but we have held our own for a while now. Across all sports, UF has it hands down over all the SEC.

Mbappe is special to watch.

That he is.

Sounds like you need to stop cutting the grass.

What he said.

Let us know if you want Me or Darcy to add your name to the list.

::yes:: If only i had teenagers who would cut it. :sad2: :furious:

Jiko was one of our favorites. It's been years, so I'm sure the menu has changed. Great steak and cauliflower soup. Africa wine was good, although I'm not a big wine drinker.

Good first half.

.

Called it right so far.

I have access to the spreadsheet thanks to Darcy (like I said, I added my info last week). I can add myself or let Adam know if I change my mind. Thanks for the offer, though!
