DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
FIL sickness is dragging on as now he has what sounds like stomach flu. I am not a fan of their primary care physician as I used to use that group but no confidence in them for multiple reasons I won't get into.
May he heal quickly.
In spite of the doctors.

I think Rob said he was pregnant.
Or was that he was going to eat so much he was going to have a food baby.

Whatever.
Now what'd I do to get dragged into this?
There's near as much truth and insight in that post as there is in a Trump Tweet.

I may still be diagnosed as being alive.
Hopefully not...
It's a terminal condition.

I'll drive dds up to visit my parents tomorrow for a quick visit and meal, and then spend agony Thursday with both sets of inlaws all freaking day long.
My advice to you is to start drinking heavily.

I would have had nothing to do with them all years ago.
I'd have written them off.
Just makes me cringe when I hear some of those stories. :scared:

Just all our usual wisdom nuggets. :lmao:
Well, there are certainly a whole lot of "nuggets" back there.
Precisely what kind of "nuggets" they are is quite debatable, though.

Based on these two posts I guess I don't need to go back and read anything. :rotfl2:
I'd say that it's probable in your best interest.

Top O the Mornin Dads! Last day in the office til next week, exactly 5 weeks til Christmas WDW trip and kids get home for Thanksgiving tonight so all in all can't complain
Nice.
It would be great if it was just once a year. I get stuck with it for all the holidays. Not sure you were around when I posted all the crap about mine
No, I don't think I was about. That sounds rubbish. Can't we send a few of the boys round and knock him out? It sounds awful for DW and DDs. You always hope that they will one day realise who the offspring who does all the work are, but they never seem to. I recommend copious amounts of Bourbon.\

There's no train here. Just the glorious Hampton Roads
No-one speaks of commutes unless they have done 20 years on the London Underground in someone's armpit. Next.

Just did an hour of podcasting with Aaron, which was fun.

Have a great evening chaps, and enjoy your Thanksgiving Eve, and remember all of us in retail on friday.
London Signing off.

Have I missed anything important in the last week or so?
Not really, although in addition to food babies and backsides, there was also Dan's story about when he was younger having a night time encounter with Michael Jackson. Apparently in a record shop...

Missed some disturbing discussion about my backside and Christmas lights :confused3
Perhaps Darcy should go back and have a look at your backside though, it photographed so well.

Took a sick day for my annual prison visit, er um, physical exam. Not sure why we pay for that treatment. Blood tests are pending, and I may still be diagnosed as being alive.
I had mine last month. Was diagnosed with the same. It's a difficult affliction sometimes, but we'll get through it.

Yet another quote from Christmas Vacation. The best movie.
Yep. I bought it on bluray last year (Boxing Day sale I think). Can't wait to see it again this year, although I refuse to watch until it's December. I haven't introduced my youngest to it yet. She's 9 now but I think it's probably OK. I know there a couple s-words in there but let's face it, they hear worse on the playground.

I still remember the first time riding the Tube. I thought it was exciting. Didn't feel that way the second time.

My advice to you is to start drinking heavily.

.

I never thought of that. :lmao:

I'll be sure to do that and blame you if it becomes an issue.

.

Not sure putting out a hit on the DisBoards would be a great idea. :lmao:

Thanks for the offer though. I'm hoping a move to Florida will seperate us and make things better. That is still 5+ years away.

I have it on DVD and we watch it multiple times, each Christmas season.

Probably better at a record shop than at the Neverland Ranch.

Happy Wednesday. Took the dds to Louisville to visit my parents. Brought them a chick fil a nugget small tray, cookies, and lemonade. Back home for swim practice and tennis tonite.

Safe travels for Thanksgiving for all of you and your families.

I've heard a log of chick fil a. Is it good? Or is it like McDonalds where they're just everywhere and convenient?

Top O the Mornin Dads and Happy Thanksgiving! Enjoy the day of food, football, family and friends and safe travels. Take a moment today between all the crazy family folk and food comas to be thankful for the good things we have today (something other than my backside )

Happy Thanksgiving to all you southern folks!

Happy Thanksgiving fellas. First in-law gathering in 90 minutes. I've started drinking already - triple bourbon, neat, and finished up the last of my Four Roses. I probably should have eaten something, as my fingers are already numb. I did fill my flask before I started drinking, which holds over seven shots of Crown Royal today. So, to my Canadian brothers, I'll be drinking and saluting you. Don't worry, I get to return home and refill the flask before the next Armageddon, er um, inlaw visit. :lmao:

It is the best chicken - anywhere. Nuggets, tenders, sandwich, wraps. I like KFC, but KFC stinks compared to chick-FIL-a. And, they are built around customer service. So, when you enter, all cash registers are going. Everyone is super friendly. When the drive thru backs up, other employees walk outside with iPads and start taking orders by walking up to different cars. I didn't pre-order the catering, although I would have for a larger group, and they had it all prepared super fast and it was delicious.

Happy Anniversary of the DISDad's Thanksgiving Massacre! :D

The thread that shall not be named.

Sadly, one inlaw insists on having fox news or child videos on the tv as opposed to the game. So, I have my phone and earbuds with me. :sad2:

Happy Thanksgiving to all you Southern Guys!

The same to you. Enjoy your Thursday? :lmao:

There's a really bad joke in there I almost posted. But, I thought about the thread that shall not be named and realized I'm not drunk enough yet. More liquor.

Happy Thanksgiving to all. Or Thursday to all our Northern and Eastern friends.

Turkey just got put into the oven, most of the sides are made and just need to put the oven. Pretty much on cruise control for a few hours.

Happy Anniversary of the DISDad's Thanksgiving Massacre! :D

Ahh, the good old days.

Top O the Mornin Dads and Happy Thanksgiving!

Same to you and your brood.

Happy Thanksgiving to all you Southern Guys!

Happy Thanksgiving to all you southern folks!

Thanks guys, we in the US appreciate it.

Happy Thanksgiving fellas. First in-law gathering in 90 minutes. I've started drinking already - triple bourbon, neat, and finished up the last of my Four Roses.

You always have interesting holidays. Good luck dealing with the In-Laws, especially the BIL.

Not sure putting out a hit on the DisBoards would be a great idea. :lmao:
OK. Understood. Say no more. I won't do a thing. Where did I put those toe tags?

Happy Thanksgiving All, from London. Again, may your Turkeys be basted and your guests be wasted.

It is the best chicken - anywhere.

Oh? I'll have to compare it to our local place up here that's been putting out the best in town for over 50 years.

I like KFC, but KFC stinks compared to chick-FIL-a.

Yes. KFC stinks.
I order it about once every 10 years.... and then remember why I only order it once every 10 years.

And, they are built around customer service.

Nice. This is becoming such a rare thing these days.

When the drive thru backs up, other employees walk outside with iPads and start taking orders by walking up to different cars.

Really! Impressive!

Sadly, one inlaw insists on having fox news or child videos on the tv as opposed to the game.

What? Isn't that against some sort of Thanksgiving bylaw?

There's a really bad joke in there I almost posted. But, I thought about the thread that shall not be named and realized I'm not drunk enough yet. More liquor.

OK. Understood. Say no more. I won't do a thing. Where did I put those toe tags?

Meh. Just take 'em off the last guy you put 'em on. He won't miss 'em.

Ah yes, the much whispered thread that shall not be named. I never had the pleasure (?) of seeing it. So Thanksgiving and booze were the culprits? Sounds about right.

Right back at you! I hope your inlaw visit was bearable.

may your Turkeys be basted and your guests be wasted.
I was going to wish our friends to the south a Happy Thanksgiving, but I really can't top that, so, what he said... :-)

Survived it. The liquor sure helped.

OK. Understood. Say no more. I won't do a thing. Where did I put those toe tags?
.

I would hope a move to Florida would solve it as we wouldn't fly back in for consecutive visits. Seeing them once is enough.

What? Isn't that against some sort of Thanksgiving bylaw?
.

Yeah, it's part of Obamacare. :lmao:

I managed to get a tv in the basement tuned into the Cowboys game. Only one other guy came downstairs. What family did I marry into? :sad2:

Ah yes, the much whispered thread that shall not be named. I never had the pleasure (?) of seeing it. So Thanksgiving and booze were the culprits? Sounds about right.
]

Well, the culprit was posting pictures of turkey breasts, minus the turkey part. Alcohol was involved.
