DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
'Morning all...
Odd, but I just couldn't get to sleep for the longest time last night.
Gave up fighting it and decided to watch a movie. Interestingly the choice ended up being Apollo 13.
I think there's a bit of a metaphor in that choice.

We've just stirred the tanks...
Now lets see if our brightest minds and calmest thinkers can help us get back home.

There are near riots on the interwebby thing. People are aghast. Shellshocked. Just plain angry. How did we let this happen?

Nestle have announced they are putting less chocolate in Toblerone. It's a scandal.
:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

We need to rise up and stop this appalling travisty!

Did my duty. Kept my streak alive of never voting straight down a party line. I prefer to do my own thinking, thanks.

Of course, my candidates seem to always lose...
I had to read this a couple of times to make sure I didn't write it and just happened to forget that I'd done so.

On a serious note, pray for us. I've never seen the country as divided as this. We have a lot of work to do

Yep, I'm feeling for you guys today. It has been a really cantankerous 18 months. But there's still Disney, right?
But even Glenn Beck is sounding conciliatory, so that's got to be progress.

Now that the election is over, our country could at least unite on the biggest problem the last two presidents (both parties) have created - massive debt. And, the only way to fix that is a combination of spending reduction and temporary tax increase. And that's where the fighting begins. :sad2:

Don't have to but want to and on my budget. DD has been good with budget management it is DW that is gonna cause us to throw mamma from the train.

I don't have a budget for wedding created. So, they better be waiting quite awhile if that is what either is expecting.

Nestle have announced they are putting less chocolate in Toblerone. It's a scandal.

That is a true scandal. Can we have another Brexit vote? Or, chocolate vote?

Well, my candidate lost as well, but I knew that before I even voted. I went with the Independent Pro Life candidate who I knew had no chance. Did he even get 1%? I haven't seen progress in the last 16 years, and see no change in the next term.

I was thinking more of a challenge in the Supreme Court. Human rights?

Looking at the candy Aisle in Walmart, there must be some kind of Constitutional Amendment on the amount/variety of chocolate that must be on sale at all times, because economics would suggest that 80 different kinds of chocolate/peanut variations is a bit much.

Morning gents.

Wow. I'm a little... well.... flabbergasted.

Also, the DIS has been very slow and unresponsive past 5 days or so on my laptop but all other sites are fine, anyone else having problems?

Yup. It's the stoopid ads at the bottom of the screen.
I've had a thread going for a while now about it.
Some solutions, too.

Looks like the crazy neighbours are at it again! There won't be a moments peace tonight (and perhaps for the next four years:()

Odd, I heard them arguing too.

Nestle have announced they are putting less chocolate in Toblerone. It's a scandal.

They're WHAT???????

I'll ask for you. Your brightest minds and calmest thinkers are all moving to Canada.

First Brexit and now less chocolate....damn you Nestle!

Top O the Mornin Dads, I think. Long night gonna make for a long day. Now its time to hang on for what could be a wild ride. Hoping that smart people do smart things.

Thanks, thought it was me.

Not sure citing Human Rights and people of Wal-Mart in the same sentence would have substantial legal persuasion on the Courts. But, it is funny and scary website all at the same time. :lmao:

Instead of going on a tirade, I'll just purchase two candy bars to increase my belly size.

Egregious. What are all those gaps?

Sadly, we've ignored the debt for years (both parties), and I don't see anything to indicate that will change.

I voted third party as well.

Ah...that explains it. I thought it was just my crappy computer!

If your going for 2, you might as well bag a bargain and get a multi-pack. I'll have one with ya.

Them and Cher. You gotta take the rough with the smooth.
I'll let someone else do the "and she is pretty rough" gag. Oh.

So, about that basement...
The key is under the mat.

Yes, "crazy neighbour" jokes aside, I do hope for the best both for the US and the world over the next 4 years.

But there's still Disney, right?
How about we all just move to Disney and forget about all this? Can we do that? It doesn't matter which Disney, any of them would be fine.

Well, my candidate lost as well, but I knew that before I even voted.
In our elections, I've often voted for a candidate who I knew had no chance, more of a protest vote than anything for me. But I do believe strongly in casting a vote. There are places in this world where people don't have the right to vote. At least we have the freedom to do so, even if we don't agree with the outcome.

Outrageous! They should fill in those holes, so it looks like more of a wall, and then charge more to get us to pay for it! Oh, wait, I've been reading too much rubbish on the interwebby lately....

Agreed. We'll all kick in a mill and go and house share in Golden Oaks.
I think it would make an awesome fly on the wall piece.

Morning all. Returning to my normal commentary on chauffeuring children, my quest for more bourbon, and searching for the life of CJ - none of which will be impacted by the election results.

::yes::

I've never missed a vote, and hopefully taught my children the same.

Each kick in a million? I think that is the starting price. Or, is the GBP low on the exchange rate right now?

We've talked about that a few times around here. The Official DIS Dad Retirement Home.

I know that Golden Oak is only possible if I win the lottery. But, finding a decent condo near Orlando or more likely on the beach is still our retirement plans. I'm trying to talk DW into moving now. The answer is always no because she doesn't want to make it difficult on the children.

How many bedrooms do you think we could get? Or will we all need to put up a camper on the front lawn?

Top O the Mornin Dads and a verry happy Friday Eve! Kids are coming home tomorrow to accomplish the following, though after the fact celebrate DDs birthday, DD can work a 12 hour Saturday shift at the assisted living place, DS can get a home cooked pasta meal, DS can help me with getting the gutter lights hung up (note, don't turn on til after Thanksgiving) and me and DS can watch a Hawks game together instead of texting during a game.

Now there's a grand idea, sign me up!

Good to hear you are getting back to normal, as in the kids always come first don't they :thumbsup2
