DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
My goodness. Seems I missed quite the conversation in the last day or two. :scared1::rotfl2:

Yes you did but I think we have come to the end of it now.

Agreed. Time to put it behind us.

Hope they take advantage of it because despite this team being built for the long haul, you don't know when you will get back here.

::yes:: You can have the best team and all it takes is a hot bat or a hot pitcher and... poof.

Did you just post an emogi of a rim shot? You're just making this way too easy now. :lmao:

:rotfl:

Back home from a week on campus. I'm not scheduled for anywhere in November, so hopefully, it will be a relaxing month. I'll have to return in Dec for finals. I'm going to try and play tennis at noon the rest of the month outdoor while it is warm enough. Hope you all have a great weekend.

All this potty talk is so immature. I expected so much more of you to dump the puns and flush this talk.

Says the creator of the naked man in the snow picture. :scared1:

Not sure I had any choice in the mater.

Well, you could have gotten all hateful, posted how mad you were, and then hypocritically posted hateful things about everyone else. :headache:

Evening chaps, just checking in. Had a good afternoon in the Paris parks today, the revamped Peter Pan is awesome, the Halloween decor is really cool, as Paris main Park is very pretty anyway. Kids are way over tired as they were on the road at 0520, have eaten their body weight in buffet dessert, and are now giggling insanely. I'm trying to tell them to go to sleep, but I can't do it without giggling as well.
.

With that much sugar, I would as well. So, how about a compare/ contrast on Disney Paris vs WDW?

Sounds like a great time - love those special little times that sometimes seem to get lost in a Disney trip.

Morning everyone. Did the single digit dance this morning. DW laughed at me and told me to go to work. :dancer:We're down to 9 days.

Work? What is work?

8 down 3 to go!

GO CUBS!

Go Cubbies.

Great memories. Enjoy the rest of the visit and may there be many more giggling moments.

Hope you all have a great weekend.

Same to you Bubba.

Sounds fantastic. As Darcy mentioned, when you have time we'd all love to see a few pics.

So, how about a compare/ contrast on Disney Paris vs WDW?
Perhaps a topic for a DisDads podcast, if Dan's up for another one?

We have a saying around these parts - pictures or it didn't happen! ;)

Hope the rest of the trip is a good one.

I'm trying guys, but the mobile platform won't let me upload - it keeps saying the files are too big for the server.

Definitely up for that. It's a great park that many from the UK disregard because it's not a carbon copy of the MK, but that's the charm of it.

Morning Guys,

Hope you are all having a great Friday so far.

I played my first competitive game of basketball last night in over 30 years. It was fun and a good run; looking forward to more. Certainly helped that we won by about 50 points.

Top O the Mornin Dads! Booked FP+ for Christmas trip this a.m. so now in major countdown mode. Great weekend for a Cubs fan except for the wedding in Chicago we have to go to tomorrow night. Outside of the crazy logistics with DW already up there with her parents and me and the kids basically doing a 24 hr trip up and back Sat & Sun due to their class schedules, our nephew is marrying a Cardinals fan and apparently no TV access at the reception and no Cub attire? Silly girl .................

GO CUBS!

Nice and who'd ya play to beat em by 50? How was your shot after that long?

Morning guys! Got home from work yesterday and started feeling like poo. I hoping I'm just sick of work, but my throat and aching body tell me otherwise. So, working from home today. I enjoy that perk sometimes. Tend to get more work done at home then I do in the office. Go figure.

Enjoying all the updates both here and on FB. Keep them coming and enjoy your time together!

I think the Bride planned the reception that way on purpose, I say you sneak in a TV.

My shot wasn't too bad, think I went 3 for 6 or 7. I'm playing in a 4 team over 45 league and they draft the teams each season trying to keep them balanced. I'm guess last night was a bit out of the norm or the other captain drafted poorly.

Yep, hopefully the guys won't get fed up with them. You ever been to DLP?

Nope. I've been to every Province and 1 of the three Territories in Canada, driven back from Florida twice but I've never made it to Europe. We are hoping to make a visit to Ireland, Scotland and hopefully the rest of the UK at some time.

Enjoying the benefits of working from home and remember video conferences only require you to be dressed from the waist up.

‘Morning all…
Saw pictures of snow falling to the north of us. Not gonn’a be happening like that any time soon down this way. Summer is fighting to hold on a bit yet and we’re looking at mid-80s and zero rain for the foreseeable future. Certainly not the way October/November behaved when I was a young’en.

That is what vacationing and parenting is all about.
Y’all have fun.

You have a very interesting work schedule.
But on the whole it looks to be working fairly well for you.

I was never mad or angry about it.
Hurt? Embarrassed? Yes. But not angry.
Besides, I’ve been "hurt" many times in my life, and very badly as well.
Nothing new; I’ve learned how to deal with that.

Work? What is work?
A curse…
A necessary curse

Saw a few you posted on Facebook.
Will have to go on over there and see what all you’ve posted up.
Sounds like y’all are having a great time.

That’s quite the thumping.
Good that you stay so active regardless of the win/loss count.

Sounds like a conspiracy to me.

Morning guys! Got home from work yesterday and started feeling like poo.
Of the ways one can “feel” upon returning home from work…
That one shouldn’t even be on the list.
Heal quickly.

only 10 more years until retirement!
Whoa…
You get to retire?

Happy Friday all. Managed to respond to my one email request today. Weekend is still on.

Work? What is work?
.

More life of CJ? :lmao:

I've listened to a few podcasts over the years and participated in a few as well. I don't keep up with them very well.

From Vardy to James? Or, are you more like KD?

I'm sure no one will have a cell phone in there the whole time. :lmao:

No one wants to consider you may be clothed only from the waist up.

:scared1::eek::scared1::eek::scared1:

Morning gents.
Full day of work ahead.

only 10 more years until retirement!
.

6 more years before I'm eligible. DW has 10 more years. She's expecting me to work and wait for her. I'm thinking about a long distance relationship from Florida. :lmao:

Now, that one would never happen.

You have a very interesting work schedule.

True. Not a lot of money, but good benefits and warm weather 6 months of the year. I still have to respond to emails and the like. I could still travel to cover for someone if needed.

Well, it could. As long as the relationship is with the divorce lawyers....

Evening boys, from Paris. Did EMH to Fireworks today. Quite a few highlights.....Got a cheeky single rider on Space Mountain which was a walk on, the boy wanted to do Pirates twice instead of the parade, and we ate Bistro Chez Remy, with the wine flight. Then FP on Ratatouille Ride for all 4 of us and then Disney dreams, which is amazing. check it out on Youtube if you haven't seen it.

On the down side the only beer in this bloody country is Kronenburg. So I'm on the wine.

I hoping I'm just sick of work, but my throat and aching body tell me otherwise. So, working from home today.
I find a nice Bourbon cures most of these ailments. Have 2 and tell them I said it was OK.
only 10 more years until retirement!
To the day? Nice bit of forward planning there pkondz...

Have a good friday evening all, and enjoy your Saturday.

Yep, hopefully the guys won't get fed up with them. You ever been to DLP?
Enjoyed seeing the pics on FB. DLP has certainly changed since I was there in 1998. I'd love to get back again.

Got home from work yesterday and started feeling like poo. I hoping I'm just sick of work, but my throat and aching body tell me otherwise.
Hope you feel better before your trip.

Saw pictures of snow falling to the north of us.
Yep, the first flurries of the year fell this morning up here. Melted away again by afternoon, but it won't be long now before the ground is white.

I've listened to a few podcasts over the years and participated in a few as well. I don't keep up with them very well.
I hadn't listened much until I noticed the one with @declansdad and I've keep looking for any from names I recognize like @Captain_Oblivious and @londontime It helps me connect FB and Disboards names/faces. I mostly listen to trip reports and any to do with food or booze (which I guess is most of them).

Disney dreams, which is amazing. check it out on Youtube if you haven't seen it.
I have seen it on Youtube and it looks wonderful. There's plenty of rumblings of changes coming to the nighttime shows at WDW before the 50th. I like Wishes and Illuminations, but if they do change either, I hope it can be in the same class as Disney Dreams.

Got a couple of things booked for the March trip. We're on the quick service dining plan so we don't waste too much time eating. Still we booked ADRs for breakfast at Be Our Guest on March 5th and dinner on March 9th at Raglan Road. March 9th is DS's 16th birthday and his grandparents will be joining us for that one.
