DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
Morning gents. Come back from behind win for the Jets.
Still doesn't make up for having to get up early for work.

'Morning all...
Almost the weekend.
Well, realistically it already is 'cause I sure ain't paying any more attention to work than need be.
If nothing catches fire, I can probable get through this day unnoticed. Sometimes being ignored is a benefit.

We're supposed to have an unusual spate of pleasant weather the next couple days.
I think we'll go out and take is a good music competition.
And get a chance to see the young'en's outfit perform as well.
Should be a good day.

DL Paris. Cheeky 3 nighter for Halloween.
Have fun storming the castle.
Wish I was close enough to one of The Worlds to consider the occasional cheeky stop over.

This should be the Disdads anthem.
Or at least our battle cry.

I can't afford indoor tennis unless you guys are sending me $.
I might be able get a hold of a couple of 1,329,063 dollar bills if you'd like to barrow them for a spell

Just don't post pictures of exposed Ta-Tas here, i.e., the thread that shall not be named. :lmao: :sad2:
There was much fall-out from that

Morning. Friday all ready, gotta love these short weeks.
Enjoy 'em when you can get 'em.

Top O the Mornin Dads and a happy Friday Eve!
Morning gents. Come back from behind win for the Jets.
Still doesn't make up for having to get up early for work.
Saw that, very nice comeback - Central Division is again the murders row of the NHL, not one clunker team in that division except for maybe Colorado

That's it. 5 O'clock. Everyone out. Whats everyone having?

Or at least our battle cry.
I thought it was "How Much?" whilst staring at a quote.

Have fun storming the castle.
Wish I was close enough to one of The Worlds to consider the occasional cheeky stop over.
Its about 4 hrs drive including the chunnel so not bad. I think we are going to get creamed renewing the APs this year though.

Busy day here today. DD16 is getting her driving license in a couple weeks. We had only one vehicle, a Toyota mini-van. After much back and forth over the last few months, I decided it was time to become a two car family. Picked up a 2013 Honda Civic this morning. Much better for a new driver to handle rather than a van. Don't like spending the money, but I also didn't like heading out at 10:00 on a Saturday night to pick her up from work, so I'll choose to look at the pros rather than cons. Just surprised her with it an hour ago. I got a few tears and a thank you, so that's worth the dollars in my book.

Happy Friday and last day of vacation here. FIL is taking us out to eat for DW's birthday. It is cold and raining here, so not a great way to end the week. Played tennis 3 hours last night, and it was cold enough to see my breath. Stupid fall weather.

Waking up early for work and finding out you won the lot would be worth it.

No. This week off was too fast.

Have fun visiting your boy and enjoy the show. I'll ask the tennis center if they accept 1,329,063 dollar bills, and then you can mail me some.

That's it. 5 O'clock. Everyone out. Whats everyone having?
h.

I'll drink an Octoberfest tonight at dinner.

.

What a great dad. I'm sure she was happy. Mine will be 15 in January. I told her she could drive my truck if it is still running when she turns 16. :lmao:

::yes::

Waking up early for work and finding out you won the lot would be worth it.

Yeah, I'd get up for that.
This morning, same thing, different sport.
Woke up early after come from behind football win, which also clinches the series so if they tie for 2nd (1st's out of reach) in their division, we have home field advantage.

Top O the Mornin Dads! Kids fall break so got to take in the Hawks game with DS last night and see DW for about an hour as DW just took her to airport to go see the boyfriend in San Diego for a few days - they are hitting DL tomorrow. Have a good one and GO CUBS!

Well done Dad! All the best to the young lady and enjoy.

Happy Bday to DW and sorry about vacation ending. Sorry about the weather but I am loving the lower temps and fall weather, shorts and sweatshirts / hockey jersey weather can't be beat.

Thanks. She was definitely happy and surprised. We kept it pretty quiet and she had no idea. I did seriously think about just keeping the one van, but I suppose it's not very "cool" to be seen driving a minivan when you're 17! Good idea for punishment though (for another year while I still have the ability to punish!), make her drive the minivan to school. :rotfl: I guess one of the upsides to buying her a car is that for any future arguments, I just dangle her car keys in front of her and say "remember what I bought you..."

Well done Dad! All the best to the young lady and enjoy.
Thanks. I think she'll be a pretty good, responsible driver. We sat in the car this morning going over all the controls and went over our expectations from her. I didn't get any Yesssss Daaad! or eye rolls, so I think it's going well.

Have a good one and GO CUBS!
Wouldn't a Blue Jays-Cubs World Series be interesting? :scratchin

Happy Saturday. Sold some junk at a yard sale this morning, but not enough loot to make up for missing vacation. But, I was able to get DW to get rid of junk, while not getting rid of me. :lmao:

Baked bread and now watching Crystal Palace and West Ham United in a monsoon. Not a bad game given the teams and the weather. I need to get a lemon and lime to try that cabo wabi tequila tonite.

Thanks. I'd rather have hot weather than cold weather. I'm looking forward to Florida weather and no change of seasons. 7 more years.

:scared1: If you need to talk to someone Mike, we're here for you. :rolleyes1

He said that she said that they went and saw him and her. Just a case of pronoun psychosis. :lmao:

and now watching Crystal Palace and West Ham United in a monsoon.
Good man. Come on you Irons! First win in a while, and that sending off was a £$%&ing joke. It is teeming down in London today.
Hopefully the cubs can make it 2 teams in a night for the Hall household.
I got a few tears and a thank you, so that's worth the dollars in my book.
That sounds awesome. I look forward to those times. I'm sure I've got a few rough years in between though.

Have a great Saturday chaps. I bought a craft beer advent calendar today (see the pic on FB) so looking forward to Dec 1.
Having a cheeky bourbon and a cigar tonight, so Mike and I may double up the luck for the cubbies....

Happy Sunday. Looks like warm weather has returned here for one more day off before staycation ends. Mike will be along shortly with another Cubs picture. A grand slam in the 8th inning? Wow.

? :scratchin

Yes, I use that with my oldest dd and her cell phone. It is an effective technique.

As for vehicles, I'm hoping to be a one car family when I retire in another 7-10 years and just live where I can walk or ride a bike everywhere.

Having a cheeky bourbon and a cigar tonight, so Mike and I may double up the luck for the cubbies....

What type of bourbon do you have across the pond? Are any of my Kentucky bourbons imported?

No bourbon for me tonite, but tried this. I'm not a huge tequila fan, but this is the best I have ever had. Way better than that Jose Cuervo stuff.

CUBS WIN! CUBS WIN! 4 down 7 to go.

Let's go CUBS!

As a 51 year Cubs fan going to Wrigley with my Dad as kid on a regular basis and even mine and DW first date was a Cubs game, this is pretty special and I only hope they go all the way this year, finally.

What type of bourbon do you have across the pond? Are any of my Kentucky bourbons imported?
Quite a few of them . In the liquor cabinet from the great Commonwealth of Kentucky (as no one ever knows what else to buy me for xmas) I have Willets, Old Weller 12 yo, Buffalo Trace, Noah's Mill, Woodfords Double Oaked, Blantons, Elijah Craig, Evan Williams and a Bulleit Rye, which I haven't tried yet.
Someone brought round JD once, but they weren't allowed back. Which is obviously from Tenn.

Were you having the Tequila straight? No ice? Thats a lovely drink. Might put that one on the Xmas list.

CUBS WIN! CUBS WIN! 4 down 7 to go.
Oh shucks. Now I have to drink more Bourbon, to keep 'em on a roll. Hey Chicago, what do you say?
