DIS Dads DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.
This long day sure kicked my butt. 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM at one job and 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the other one. That includes the 140 mile commute. I pulled into the house at 4:50, got a sandwich, and drove to the next job. Not sure how long I can do this schedule.
That's rough. How long are you gonna be on that schedule? Sorry I missed your post on the new job (congratulations????...maybe not).

Morning All,

Yesterday's storm petered out before it got bad but we have a major snowfall warning for later today and tonight. I think it is the same system the eastern US is getting right now. It is really putting a damper on our plans! DS has the JV provincial championship this weekend, suppose to be tomorrow and Saturday with today being the travel day. The high school sport federation is now contemplating pushing things to Saturday/Sunday but they won't make the decision until noon today. That is really making it difficult with drives, hotels and the fact that I have a board meeting scheduled for Sunday. They need to just make a decision! But they are not known for their decision making skills.

Wow, how many days a week are you doing that?

Top O the Mornin Dads! Well, Rivers of Light is finally out there, starts Feb 17. Updated our ADR at Tusker House to be the dining package for the show so Darcy and others heading down you may want to check out a dining package or maybe a FP+. Looks like shows are Sun / Tues / Thurs / Sat

IS that like once a week, cause if much more than that ugh!
Morning all,

Well it's been a busy few days since I arrived home from overseas. Got home Sunday night. I got back from the airport just in time to see the 4th quarter, I'm not a huge football fan but it was entertaining in the end.
Monday was a snow day for the girls. I spent the day shovelling. Youngest DD has been sick the last couple days so that's been another distraction. She seems to be getting over it now thankfully.
Welcome home! Hope DD feels better soon.

Hope it all works out so that you can be at all his games. Travel soccer tournaments for years so I understand your situation. Safe travels

Sorry I wasn't around, busy few days. Just want to tell everyone up north to stay safe. The kid told me they closed Seton Hall for classes today and she is out shark tagging on the boat. What a difference a year makes.

Just announced that Wishes will end on May 11 being replaced by new show "Happily Ever After". So upcoming trip will be one last time to see Wishes.

All I could think about during the 4th quarter, and posted on FB, was about Hulk Hogan in the WWF getting beat down for three quarters, getting revived by the crowds, and then overcoming insurmountable odds to win the match because the once dominant foe was now a bumbling idiot who forgot how to pin him. It was a great script, and could have used some steel chairs and speeches during the game. :lmao:

I saw that FB post. That was a great analogy.

Yikes. Please tell me that's not every day.

Hope you get a decision soon. The storm ended up moving through faster than we thought. We barely got anything out of it.

Saw that earlier. Hope the new show is a good one! You had to figure Wishes wasn't going to be there forever.

I will need to look at our schedule to see if this works.

So they moved everthing back a day. Spent the better part of the day trying to get the hotel stuff for the team and parents fixed. Bad news is we couldn't keep all the rooms for Saturday night so now 3 parents need to stay at a different hotel on Saturday. Still haven't figured out how to handle the Sunday board meeting yet.

Cj, I think there may be some good news out of the Marlins front office. Rumour has it that Loria is moving on.

CJ, I see that Loria is working on selling the Marlins. Are you getting season tickets this year? :rotfl2:

Well, today made for a better week. Just booked 1 Br. Std. View at the Boardwalk for 1-3 to 1-10. For those interested and haven't seen, DVC and AP links to register for the races are open.

Going to miss Wishes. Not going before it ends but am excited to see the new show. I don't know if anyone posted but the Rivers of Lights show is or is soon to be up and running. Saw some pictures from someone that was at a preview and it looks spectacular. (Sorry if this is redundant and others posted about it but I haven't caught up yet)

From your lips... Lots of speculation here, I taking a wait and see attitude. Not hopeful for next year, the franchise took a big blow when they lost Fernandez and it's going to take time to recover. And we still have a buttocks for an owner.

Wanted to go to a game or two last year but it never worked out. No season package for me this year but I need to see a couple of games.

Morning Guys.

Having some coffee before heading outside to dig out. Wouldn't mind it so much if the temps hadn't dropped to around -10F.

Joe Rohde retweeted this message from Blog Mickey "Rivers of Light set to debut TONIGHT at Animal Kingdom (2/10/2017)"

Looks like it is a go starting tonight. One show I am looking forward to seeing even though it will be a while.

Heaven help you. I think I will take a pass.

Happy Friday. Regional swim meet this weekend. Since my oldest turned 15 in January, I doubt she will make new state cut times for this year. So, HS swim may be done. She could go watch her teammates that make it though.

It is cold here, but not snowing. I hope you all make it safely thru with shoveling and traveling.

.

Thanks guys for the concern. That was a bit much, and no, I shouldn't have to do that schedule too often.

It's a combination of inheriting a schedule that's already made out thru June, and a previous employee who was just useless. There are only two evening sessions, both start at 7, but they aren't all year round. But, since none of the preparatory work was done, I had to go I early.

All dug out!

Almost time to head for basketball provincials before it snows again.

Happy Friday gents! Looking forward to the weekend, that is all, carry on...........
Happy Friday guys, we made it. Dan, it is up to you to call quitting time.
Yea Dan, you've not been around lately but you sure better get here today to close the week out and save the rest of us seats at the Pub.

Don't miss that, don't miss that, don't miss that. Spending the first 36 years of my life up in Chicago, the snow and bitter cold I do not miss one bit.

Best of luck to DS and the team this weekend - keep us posted.

OK mate, it's all over. The bar is open. Who's in? After the last couple of weeks, I'm buying. Let's start with a cheeky Patron and then an IPA. I'm in the mood for mixing.

Hope everything is well chaps, beer, bacon, pixie stuff and best wishes from the very overworked London bureau. Hopefully catch up over the weekend.

Have to take a raincheck as I am staying in tonight. Waiting to make sausage/apple stuffed pork chop, sautéd asparagus and pasta salad.

Cheers Mate!

3.5 hours later and we have arrived at the hotel. Time for some dinner and then a couple of cool ones.
