And the verdict is ....

...torn meniscus and some arthritis. Possible solutions - surgery to fix the tear, more time out if arthritis is bad, shot (only once or twice), or suck it up buttercup. I think my plan may be to drink more.
Liquid pain killer is a good route.

Liquid pain killer is a good route.

That sounds like the best option.

Wouldn't that jeopardize next year's Wimbledon?

Maybe. I know my good ole days were never has been. While it is my best sport, high school tennis is way off from professional tennis. Still, I have that thought in my mind that if I lose all the weight, then there is a sliver of a chance I could win the championship. :lmao:

DD knee all started with a torn meniscus - positive thoughts sent your way Norm.

Thanks.

So, I saw the trailer for Donald Duck coming to Infinity 2.0. Does that mean I have to buy a whole new game and platform to put the characters on???

I can't imagine Disney would design a product that would make you pay a lot of money. :lmao:

Tambu Lounge is still open but not nearly as appealing an atmosphere as before construction.

Heard from a few reliable sources that Ohana is closing in November for a six month rehab.
I fail to see the humor in this! :snooty:

Good morning gentlemen,

Very sad news yesterday.

Yesterday Stretch had his big doctor appointments to talk about how we're going to go about reconstructing his year. To say we were let down would be a gross understatement. We could do a prosthetic ear which has a whole range of issues that makes it unappealing. Our other option would be reconstruction. the method this doctor prefers isn't usually done until he's 10 although he'd be will to do it sooner. That has to be done before we can open the ear canal. We were led to believe by the first doctor that he'd be a great candidate to not need a hearing aid after the surgery. His partner who would do the surgery said he's 50/50. he also hinted that with how good hearing aid technology has come he doesn't understand why anyone would need bilateral hearing. Not at all the answer we were looking for or expecting. Right now Stretch can't wear his aid with a hat or bike helmet. Without it he has a hard time picking out sounds on his right. There's a major reason right there I can think of to have two working ears. I'm done venting for now. We're keeping an eye out for get togethers for families with this condition around the country so we can meet other doctors and get a second opinion. Looks like the next one is early summer next year.
Total bummer. Any thoughts on 2nd opinion?
That news is def harder to handle when you're given much more optimistic news previously.

It's a great feeling to be on the A-list. :lmao:
I'm usually on A list, but not the A list.

Get the surgery, Norm. Disney is a lot of walking and you'll be doing that for years to come. Get it fixed while young and able. OK, while you're young. Ok, before you're too old. :lmao:

well, good news. just got a call from Make a Wish (well, actually an email saying the phone number they had for me was disconnected.. old provider pulled out of the market area and told us to find a new provider, and the email asked me to call a number to discuss our upcoming make a wish trip), to discuss our make a wish trip. we confirmed the dates we will be going. the flight times, i may have to ask for a later flight home! and we will be staying at the GF since the Poly is under construction. asked about dining plan (saw that they were testing offering dining plan without tickets tied to the room, would make me booking our meals easier for the character meals so i would not have to prepay them), and just need to confirm/figure out what DS wants his special thing to be while we are there. its tentativly set as the Jake and the Neverland pirates deluxe package thingy.

so our dates are confirmed Nov 20 - Nov 26. any of yall gonna be there during that time?

Very cool. It already sounds like a great time. Let us know how the planning goes.

Good morning guys. Off to the doc today for routine check up and cholesterol testing.

Showed her and if yours is interested, mine would be glad to talk to her.
Marine Biologist is a running joke in our family b\c that was my wife's dream job. Essentially, she wanted to play with dolphins. My FIL, who I believed has earned the title of, "Most Practical Man Alive", dashed her hopes. He dropped some knowledge on her about something like .00000000001 percent of marine biologists get to work with dolphins. My wife is now a pharmacist. So the running joke is about how he ruined her dreams. :lmao:

Your daughter looks to be well ahead of the curve on may different things. Seeing and hearing about these accomplishments give me hope for our future. I'll make sure to show these photos to my kids. They will love them.

I'm not as good as I once was nor was I ever as good as I thought I was.

Go easy there. Norm is still wet behind the ears compared to some of us.

Good morning guys. Off to the doc today for routine check up and cholesterol testing.

I think of cholesterol, like oil in the engine. You need plenty to keep everything lubricated.

Morning morning....day off, which is a good thing. You can certainly tell the boss is away, that's for sure. Going to accompany Mom to downtown Toronto this afternoon, since for some reason she has her eye doctor down there.

Hope you studied! :rotfl2:

Nope, but here's to you having a magical trip! The hardest part now is the waiting..

Off to the State Fair tomorrow, and then next week we are back into homeschooling fulltime and our normally abnormal life.

Always wanted to visit a State Fair, but, no state:rotfl2: CNE I think is the closest equivalent we have, that starts Friday, heading there next week

I hear ya Brent. In fact I think Stretch is leaning toward surgery so he can get away from needing a hearing aid. The problem is, if you open the ear canal first you cannot go back and reconstruct the ear later.

Your decision is far more critical then ours ever was, hearing is far more important. It's good that Stretch is getting input into it, Audrey never really had much say, she was only 1 when we saw the specialists.

And the verdict is ....

Think long term. Get the surgery, aim it for a period in between trips (can't impact that after all) You can still drink more.

Not competent staff? We have those here as well. I think we pronounce it management. :lmao:

Yup...Us too, but when it comes down to it, most of the regular staff can't handle it either. In fact, today should be interesting, Only one able to run things isn't in until 1pm. :rotfl2:

You aren't that far from the Erie County Fair in Hamburg and it is excellent. 2nd largest fair in NY.

Been kind’a needin’ to borrow Shawn’s avatar for a little while here.
I may be a bit quiet, but I’m reading along when possible.

Prayers, good thoughts and extra bacon for all...
and a few extra for Stretch; tough decisions ahead there.
Y’all take care now.

Rob, one of me with my life is enough for any group :lmao: Here is hoping your dreams come true soon

1st day of school here ownage. "Woohoo! You're the government's problem."- Homer Simpson

That easy? I'm a big chicken and not sure I'm ready for it.

Watch out for that prostate exam. Even though your my nemesis, I'll hope your doctor has small fingers. :lmao:

Marine Biologist is a running joke in our family b\c that was my wife's dream job. Essentially, she wanted to play with dolphins. My these photos to my kids. They will love them.

This exactly. :thumbsup2

Showed her and if yours is interested, mine would be glad to talk to her. .

She really wants to be a Marine biologist that only works with dolphins. She is a great swimmer, and has put those two ideas together somehow. :lmao:

Think long term. Get the surgery, aim it for a period in between trips (can't impact that after all) You can still drink more.
:

Wow, another vote for surgery.

Speaking of surgery, nothing like your first sports injury prior to age 1. :lmao:

Where is the Bionic knee option?

So, I saw the trailer for Donald Duck coming to Infinity 2.0. Does that mean I have to buy a whole new game and platform to put the characters on???

::yes::

If it's any comfort, I think they said the characters from game 1 will also work in game 2.

Is this work-related downpours?

The bionic knee was only offered in the premium insurance plan. I didn't upgrade. :lmao:

I'm not sure about knee surgery...it seems like it is really hit or miss.

I'm having thumb surgery next week. Ruptured tendon on what happens to be my shooting hand, so it's a no brainer for me on that one...my knees, if it wasn't necessary, would give me pause!

Morning Men. It's would you rather Wednesday; which would you pick.
