Saturday ownage.

Other issue was we spent a lot more time on the midway so the girls could do the rides. The big Food Building closed before we could get back, so I missed out on the Coke Freestyle machine and the deep fried Coke I was thinking of. Amelia didn't get get the fudge she wished for either. Yet another factor was the lines were HUGE. Way busier then we've dealt with before. The line to grab the Tiny Tom mini donuts, a tradition in my family was 45 minutes so I went without. We will return in a couple of years, I can wait.

Yeah, 45 minutes sounds like a lot to me as well. But, donuts are good, although I've never had Tiny Tom ones.

Happy anniversary to you and your DW. Hope you guys find some time to celebrate this weekend.

Thanks. We started planning next year's already - maybe a 3 day cruise for #15.

I've never seen Tiny Tom at 45 minutes... Did you check the one outside behind the food building near the midway?

Basicly a dozen tiny donuts you get to watch being made as you order. Plain, icing sugar, cinnamon, apple cinnamon and chocolate. Been a staple there for decades. Brian, that was the one. The food building was closed and it was 11 pm. Line went out as far as halfway into where the first midway game was ( the bowling ball one) and that line is slow since they don't pre make.

Also noticed that the little Dole Stand, that used to be near the Queen Elizabeth building and the Better Living Center is gone. Couldn't get floats, but in years past I have had Dole whips before

Evening Dads.

The travel soccer season will be coming to an end tomorrow. DS and his team blanked my hometown today 2-0 in the provincial semi-final. They dominated from the start and gave up only one shot the entire game. Heading back to the old hometown for the final at noon tomorrow. It takes about 2 hours from door to field but it is worth it to have him get a good sleep in his own bed.

School soccer starts Wednesday.

Hope you are all having a great long weekend.

OK, waited since December for Florida football to start. Kickoff was scheduled at 7:00 but storms delayed it till around 9:40. Idaho kicks off and we run it back a billion yards to their 14. Refs halt play and say lightning struck somewhere near the stadium and cleared the field. Come on! All I want to do is watch a football game.

They have until midnight to start the game before canceling, so I will wait and see. Time for an adult beverage.

Congrats are in order to Declan on a win, best wishes tomorrow, and to KYFigment for putting up with Norm all those years, Happy Anniversary!

Been a long two days. Meeting yesterday where they basically told me I will be left to fend for myself in the near future unless a miracle occurs. 4 1/2 years ago I had two full time assistants, soon to be no help :teacher: :mad::headache::sad2:

Today I set 1200 cabbage plants and dug about 300 pounds of sweet potatoes by hand. I'm thankful I am employed and still on the green side of the sod, but if they keep this up I may find myself under the sod. If I can get enough energy to get out of the chair, I'm calling it a day.

I did manage to get the family to the local festival which killed 2 hours with the parade and walk around the vendor booths etc. so they were somewhat happy I didn't work all day.

Better safe than with a bunch of dead players. Have two beverages for me, I'm thirsty.

True, but I don't know why Mother Nature decided to mess with my evening. Sorry to hear about the difficulties at work. Just make sure you stay on the green side of the sod.

Game was canceled not because of lightening which is gone, but the condition of the field. It is yet to be determined if they will try to make it up. The season will open (fingers crossed) next Saturday.

I think I will take your advice and have another beverage or two. Feel free to join me.

PS. Mother nature can be cruel but it is just a football game. Not as important like you, Andy and others whose livelihood depends on the weather.

Greetings from Sarnia. Very quiet day, the whole weekend is sort of a wind down from a hectic summer. Poor Amelia caught some sort of nasty cold/ sinus thing just in time to wrap things up. Kept her up most of last night. Dosed up with some meds recommended by the pharmacist she is getting a good nights sleep. Other then that not much going on.

Ugh... Here is hoping for that miracle. Stay up here on the right side of the sod. We have Beer, Bacon and Dole Whips.

Hope everyone that has a long weekend is enjoying it.
Friday was my FF draft
Yesterday we went swimming at our friends' house and enjoyed a nice variety of beers. Mmmmm, beer.
Today I am meeting my buddies at an awesome bar\restaurant in the SouthSide of Pittsburgh fir lunch and drinks, then going to watch the re-release of Ghostbusters.
Bonus to all of this is that my DW is heading over to her sister's to hang out. So I avoided a meeting of the hens (MIL, Step-MIL, SIL, 3 nieces, 2 daughter...and then just my FIL and me.) I love them dearly, but it's a lot of estrogen.

I have to catch up on the past couple days of posts, so just checking in for now. Be safe everyone.

Evening Guys.

Got home a couple of hours ago from Declan's provincial final. I am proud to report that his team won 3-0 in another convincing match and are the U13 Provincial Champions.

Declan and a fantastic coach.

Now it's time for the DisDads Fantasy Football Draft!!

In a cruel twist of fate, my nemesis and I pick back-to-back in our Fantasy Football Draft. This is exactly what caused us to become nemeses those many moons ago. :thumbsup2

Morning guys. T-minus two hours before we head to KC. Have a great Labor Day weekend!
Hope the BBQ has been plentiful on the trip!

Quinoa I like, restricted diets...not so much.
Amen to that. I've had some really healthy and delicious qinoa recipes.

Morning guys. Busy labor day weekend over here. Unpacking stuff int he new house still, then up to the beach tonight for a big family party tomorrow. Should be fun.

Hope everyone enjoys the weekend.
Good luck with the unpacking. Hope it goes smoothly and that you can move onto the fun stuff!

Happy Labor Day guys,

Not much going on here, just me and the dogs. I asked them and they are all in for a BBQ but not sure I want to do it. Heading to Publix in a bit to see if something in the meat department inspires me.

Hope everyone has a good one!

I'm sure the dogs will enjoy whatever you throw on the grill CJ.

Happy Labour Day!

Morning all. Been a dreary few days here with the rain. Did manage to play tennis Saturday morning, but raining off/on since. This is the last day the water park is open at Holiday World, and the dds may go if th weather holds up.

You're talking to the dogs now? Worse, they're answering you? Might need to check that prescription. :lmao:

Donuts being made in front of you sounds great. It's like the caramel corn being made in front of you in Germany at Epcot.

Thanks. Maybe it should be for me having to put up with her? No, you got it right the first time.

Sorry to hear about the future cuts and hope something comes thru.

I had the time wrong and had to autodraft. My RB1 is Morris, so I'm already done for the season. I've really enjoyed fantasy baseball this year, and it should be an interesting finish.

Hope everyone has a happy Labor Day and stay safe if you are on the roads today.

Just call me the dog whisperer.

We made a decision to go with BBQ chicken drumsticks and Italian hot sausage with peppers and onions. If they play their cards right, they might get a piece of chicken. A rare treat for them.
