Oh, this won't be repeated I hope. essentially I got absent-minded and it ended up in a box of cardboard I gathered while putting stock away. Tossed the box in the bailer without thinking, and turned it on. Looked around for the scanner, no luck, retraced my steps, and thought "Could I have? Nah..." but looked anyways, there it was. Bailer wasn't full so still had a lot of give to it, so no damage done, but damn, I got lucky there.

Oh, another skid fell off the truck, again the driver's fault, I dropped a case of beer on my finger, and a co-worker tripped and wiped out in the warehouse area. Another average day.

Shooter is still in his neighbourhood somewhere and supposedly been there for a couple of hours. Police asked people to stop tweeting their locations because they think this little JA has been following them on his phone.

I saw his Facebook page awhile ago and this guy was a nut.

Saw the alert on the Calgary Herald & CBC websites this evening. Terrible tragedy. I have a good friend in the RCMP, not stationed there, but when this happens, the entire force, and all forces are affected.

So I made a mistake tonight, DS had his soccer practice cancelled but they were required to do a run and DW thought it would be a good time for a family run.

She forgot that she does a 5K and DS was required to run a series of sprints for about 20 minutes. I volunteered to run with him and realized that it's hard to keep up with a 6 foot tall 13 year old.

You’ve reached the age where you can just have him do all the running while you control the stopwatch and just holler at him: “What was that! If I had a mind to, I could beat that time while hopping on one leg, now get back out there and do it again!”

That’s the good thing about this part of the young’en raising process…
You can say whatever you want without having to back it up, ‘cause they ain’t really listening to you anyway.

On a completely unrelated note, I discovered today that the store's scanner guns can survive a trip in the cardboard compactor.

Morning Guys,

The manhunt is still going on this morning but it looks like they may know where he is. Just talked with my brother for the first time and he said other than a couple scary moments, they are good. He had the SWAT team arrive in full force to check a neighbor's yard and the woods across the street from his house and was a bit freaked out when his pool heater started up in the middle of the night. His wife hasn't been allowed into his neighborhood yet so it's just him and the girls.

The girls worry this morning seem to be will they have to go to school this afternoon if they catch the wing-nut this morning.
