Alexandra will be swimming again this year as well. Try outs are next week and she should make the team. Dance is over next week. Final rehearsal and performances Wednesday through Friday.!

I knew she would make it as well, but she qualified for the next group up, and that was with no practice. There are 30 kids in that group, and she placed in the top 10. Proud dad moment.

Hmmmm. I know DD is excited for the new Maleficent coming this month. I'm guessing if you were an imagineer, all the ideas would be kick a$$!

Saw that preview at the Winter Soldier movie. It looked cool. Angelina Jolie looked great too.

I was thinking with a. 2 BR we could do breakfast on park days in the room. We would follow Norms schedule of one day in park, the next day at the resort. Our new kids have never been to a shopping mall, let alone an amusement park. It's all a wish right now, but maybe in a year or two we can all go.

Ahhh, my nemesis plans to follow my schedule. :lmao:

With a group of 8, a 2 BR is the way to go. The price is comparable to two rooms, and you get a full kitchen, washer/dryer, and 3rd bathroom at AKV Kidani & BLT. The 3rd bathroom alone would be worth it with 8 people.

Norm I was going to argue with you about this, until you said 3rd bathroom. :lmao:

Congrats to your DD!

Pretty chilly picking strawberries today and now it is time to weigh and count them all. At least asparagus season is done for the year.

Saw Godzilla tonight. I thought it was very well done. I won't spoil it by giving any details, but the story line is good and not even comparable to the Mathew Broderick debacle.

Godzilla looks good!

Thanks. Good thing they are done. You might have to drag out the extension cords and heaters to keep them warm. Record lows projected tonight.

I'll see it at some point. I saw one shot of Godzilla in the previews that made me worried. As for the story line - big lizard destroying cities - not too much really to think about. It is always interesting to see what spin they put on it.

I don't think we will set any records over here.

Strawberries are done at last... 909 of them for a total weight of 18.13KG.

I really want to stay at BCV for Stormalong Bay, but the 3rd bathroom is quite the selling point to a family with 5 females.

Norm I was going to argue with you about this, until you said 3rd bathroom. :lmao:

See above, lol

Happy Saturday guys

Long weekend! Been a long week. Topped it off with a 911 call to get a drunk driver off the streets.

In Sarnia now trying to get an uncooperative body to move. Aleve will be my friend. Going to Frankenmuth MI today, it's been almost 6 years since we've been there, it'll be nice.

Saturday morning ownage.

SAB is the best resort pool/slide when you consider all it has. With 3 bathrooms, you're still talking about water. :lmao:

Is that A good yield for strawberries?

I hope they were successful. I'm all for having a good time, but not for drinking and driving.

I just learned the other day about this, didn't know there was one pool that resort guest couldn't pool hop, that's where we where planning in pool hopping in oct. Back to the drawing board.

I enjoyed BCV and SAB, but not enough to want to stay there over the BWV. I get the same proximity of stuff, the community hall by the private pool on the villas side, and it is fewer points to stay there. If spending the extra points, I'm going to BLT. You get two feature pools there.

I have that Coors Light commercial with him saying "playoffs". It may be the best commercial ever.

I bet you'd claim one for yourself and let the others split the other 2. :rotfl:

Are those Canadian strawberries?

We are thinking of trying to get BCV next summer- our first August stay. I like the idea of a lazy river to come back to mid-day. They let you float around with a cocktail in your hand? :lmao:

Maybe if you give them a big cash bonus, the lifeguards will let you have a drink in the pool :lmao:

The lazy river part of SAB is a separate, small circle. After being in the lazy river at Holiday World and Typhoon Lagoon, it was a little disappointing. It is still great for a resort - I just had really grand expectations of it meandering around the whole resort. :crazy2:

I like the quiet pool at BWV. The dds can swim there and the community hall is right outside the pool. So, they can dry off and walk over and draw, color, etc and they are still within eyesight. Yes, I know my oldest is 12 and I need to stop worrying so much, but it is easier said than done.

Was it really crowded at SAB?

Happy Saturday guys. Thursday, the kid and I went to the Keys to dive but unfortunately conditions were crappy. We did make the best of it though. And, the Tiki bar was open.

Hey all. Got a text or two asking if all is ok, and that someone asked about me here. So here I am lol...

The last time we saw this many things happen at once Paul was poking the CJ voodoo doll.:faint:

Man Carl, as Jim mentioned I recently went through my own crap sandwich a little while ago but unfortunately you have me beat. Sorry to hear but you are right to focus on the little things that make life better. Hope things get better soon (meaning yesterday) and the sun starts shining again. We are here if you need to vent. And celebrate successes.

Morning guys. I need some clarification. If Disney is offering free dining, can you rent DVC points and still take advantage of that offer or do you have to book the room through Disney?

Thanks!

I was thinking with a. 2 BR we could do breakfast on park days in the room. We would follow Norms schedule of one day in park, the next day at the resort. Our new kids have never been to a shopping mall, let alone an amusement park. It's all a wish right now, but maybe in a year or two we can all go.

David, as already mentioned, free dinning is not available to DVC owners or renters. MIL is wrong. First time I am sure that ever happened. With a 2BR, you have the kitchen and can take advantage of it. In Hawaii, we did breakfasts most of the time and it saved $$$. Have also cooked full meals in the room on non park days. It is also great for just snacking and chilling at the resort.

Love SAB and will stay at BCV just for the pool days. Nothing like getting there in the morning, grabbing a shaded table and spending part of the day just relaxing at the pool. One of the DVC "perks" I liked was pool hopping. There are a lot of restrictions as to where and when you have that perk but we have taken advantage of it. There always is the Clown Pool as a fall back.

I def wanna stay at BLT again esp for the pools, when we stayed it was the chilly month and even though DD didn't care if it was chilly and wanted to swim anyways.

Been off the boards for a couple days so I have some catching up to do, but just had to jump in and brag.
I had a good buddy from college in this weekend and found out he is working on getting his pilots license. He is planning on being qualified by next summer just in time for our 2015 trip. He has access to his company plane so we only have to pay for fuel.
