Taking advantage of having a dog sitter at the house, I booked the Holiday Inn - Key Largo for Saturday. Party time. Can't wait to get out of here and not worry about anything but what I am going to eat and drink. Steamed clams or fried shrimp?
Both. Have a great time!

The Butterfly Place in Massachusetts?
Yes, but we probably won't go. Their policy is that kids under 3 must be in a carrier or stroller. The point of all these stops on a road trip is to let the kids get out and burn some energy.

Confirmed. :sad2:
Well, you may not be a 1 percenter, but at least you're a 2 percenter.

It's actually in my hometown, yet I've never gone there. Wife and kids have gone, but don't rave about it much, so I've never been dragged there...

If you stop by our place we can have the kids get a great workout in running back and forth from the cooler to bring us our drinks. :thumbsup2

So that place isn't good... Melody wanted to go there this summer.

I was only going to do the full if I can make it. If I changed my mind and went Goofy (for the medal), I'd prob walk/jog the half.
Would your jog equal 10 min mile pace?

I can't comment specifically, but since the kids haven't dragged me there, I don't know that it's anything great. I'll ask Sarah tonight and let you know, she's been a few times.

It's a good excuse to head up here and hang out with me though! :thumbsup2

That's about what I did the half in the last time I did the Goofy. Depending on how much training I do (or don't do), I might walk more so it would prob be closer to 12 mins/mile or so for that.

.

I would select both.

Prayers where needed, bacon where deserved, welcome any new guys. Norm I still haven't gotten any share of those dues you collect, you sure you have my address right?]

I sent the % of the dues portion that was mailed to me. I surprised you haven't received it yet. :confused3

Well, there's the Cubs and Cards... yeah, that's about it. :thumbsup2 :rotfl2:
:

Are you just anti NL central teams? I like the Reds and the Cardinals. I've been to more Reds games, so I guess that would be the tiebreaker for me.

I'm pretty sure Trojan is only 98% effective..

Here's the pitch......

I have a 6 year old that proves they are not 100%.

:lmao: :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl: :lmao:

Morning....tried to catch up, but then realized I was way further back then thought. Been crazy busy both at work and home, and my phone doesn't always "connect" while at work, so my attempts to catch iup there have been futile.. Welcomes, Prayers, congrats, Happy Birthday in all the applicable spots.
:

Yeah, working hard stinks. I'm still going for that four day work week plan.

However I did carry a case of Yuengling Carl gave me through the park where the old stadium stood. :lmao: :lmao:
:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Assuming you drank the beer after carrying it, then those really are the type of memories that really matter. :thumbsup2 :lmao:

I'm a Reds fan so by definition I'm pretty much anti everyone else in the NL Central.

But mainly the Cards and Cubs.

Thursday night ownage.

I only had three or four channels on the tv growing up in Louisville. They played NL Central games. Louisville still doesn't have a MLB team, but I did go watch the then Redbirds (now Riverbats). I think they switched affiliations with the Reds and Cardinals over the years. Ultimately, I don't have a home team.

Hey Guys,

Been away from the boards since last week. Things are crazy with work and home. Going to try to go back a little and see what little nuggets of wisdom I missed. It's Thursday night and that means only one thing........Tomorrow is..........FRIDAY!:cool1::cool1:

Just let me know what works.

Have been kind of staying away until this black cloud over us lifts..Havent been in the mood lately for Disney and sad thing is a trip is only 8 days away and I have no desire to go( yea I know shoot me now put me out of my misery). Well you guys enjoy your day and maybe I will check back in soon

Hey Carl, Hope things get better. I can't think of a better way to change the mood than some time and magic at WDW. Have a safe trip.

We are flying down 9/17, cruising 9/18-9/21, BLT 9/21-9/25… just missing each other. :wave2:

We'll be in New London some time in June. Maybe I can find time to come visit.

Trojan and Durex worked for me back in the day. :coffee:

:lmao::rotfl2::lmao:

Gentleman, I humbly request membership in your distinguished club.

My name is Dave. I have been blessed with the role of "Stay At Home Dad" for 10 years now. I have a 10 year old daughter and a 7 year old son. Part of my job description as SAHD is "Family Travel Coordinator." :thumbsup2

I grew up on the west coast and some of my fondest childhood memories were the 3 seperate trips we took to Disneyland.

I rediscovered my love of Disney in 2009. Since then my family has taken 4 Disney Cruises, two trips to WDW, and two family trips to the Disneyland Resort. I was also able to fly down for a one day trip with a friend for lunch in Club 33 last May. I've managed to work in Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party at WDW and Christmas time at Disneyland.

I am a regular listener of both Dis Unplugged podcasts (just added the DisDads podcast to my queue). I have a gold D23 membership. My kids have given me at least 2 different Disney coffee mugs as gifts. I have more Disney shirts and jackets than I count without going to the closet.

When it comes to planning vacations I am a firm believer in "Think Disney First." My wife - "What about San Fran?", "Sure! We could visit the Walt Disney Family Museum". Hawaii? Aulani! Europe? Disney Cruise and Disneyland Paris!

My lovely wife insisted that our last trip be Disney free. :( While we did spend spring break this year on beach in Mexico, I still wore a Disney item or two and brought a copy of Mary Poppins to read next to the pool.

Our next Disney trip will be an Alaskan cruise in July of 2015.

What can I say - I'm a Disney nut and proud of it. So, um, mind if I join y'all

Welcome SAHDave!

Welcome to the Club Dave!

And just so you know Norm doesn't distribute the dues. :furious:

:lmao:

 You told them Norm's secret. Oh no.

Welcome Dave, just make sure you watch the guys from Boston.

Yes, watch out because we are Awesome! Did I mention the Red Sox are World Champions!:rolleyes1

Another fun day.

Have no idea where my keys are. Looked all over and could not find them. Had to call a locksmith to break into the car and cut me a new set. I am sure the keys will reappear by tomorrow morning.

Then the kid calls and United canceled her flight home tonight. Their reason? "The plane broke?" Huh? Now flies home early am tomorrow and will be here around 9.

Got the mail and Thrifty sent me a bill for charged toll fees on a rental. The toll amount - $3.45, the administrative fee - $100. I have the Florida pre paid toll plan so that will be scratched off. After an argument I expect.

Also in the mail is a letter from the IRS saying I owe $2,800 from 2012 because her education allowance was denied. Will talk to the accountant (after a short April 15 recovery time) and expect that to be overturned. She is entitled to the allowance. After another argument of course.

Finally the mutt I did not want escaped under the fence. The bad news is that he came back.

It has gotten to the point where it is laughable. No sympathies needed. Seriously, I am laughing and saying, "What's next. Bring it." Determined to carry on and make sure 2014 does not suck. To that end, I am visiting a friend in DC at the end of the month to see the Cheetah run the Nike Diva Half. She has a great opportunity over the summer with her internship and I may be joining her on some research dives. And we have the WDW trip in June. Plus if she can get some time off and the IRS gets settled, I am looking at a RCL cruise deal sometime over the summer. That may not happen but I have a dream.

Now to the Boston Mafia, if you placed a curse on us, I surrender. Paul, I promise she won't shiv you. Well, probably. Jim, you are a worthy adversary and from all accounts a fine fellow. WOW, my tongue didn't just jump out of my mouth after that last statement.

Survived yesterday's day in history when Lincoln was shot and the Titanic hit an Iceberg. Today Lincoln died and the Titanic sank.

That's what those keys are for.:lmao::lmao:

Seriously, sorry PP plane got cancelled. Hopefully everything is better now. I'll put the doll down for a few days and let you get some rest.

You can always send Jim your taxes. I'm sure he will 'fix' it for you. :smokin

I'm pretty good at changing numbers. Especially when you sign the return.:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Hi all,

I humbly ask that you consider my application for membership to the group.

I have wanted to work for Disney since my first trip when I was 12, but now that it looking unlikely unless I can wangle a retirement job there in a few years. My daughter has now taken on the quest to be an imagineer.

Living in the UK means that trips to WDW are expensive but I have still managed a Disney holiday of one variety or another every year since 2007. Unfortunately I pointed this out to my wife, so this year is off the cards.

I have visited WDW, Disneyland, Disneyland Paris, Tokyo Disneyland, and been on the Magic and Wonder.

I also develop mobile apps in my spare time, and have just released my first Disney one called PhotoSpot WDW which helps you take better photos in the parks.

I rest my case.

Thanks

Peter

Welcome to the crazy house Peter!

If she surrenders the shiv, I'll surrender the voodoo doll. :confused3

Two voodoo dolls.:eek: No wonder he's having bad luck. I'll put mine away for now.

But Paul, nobody does that voodoo like you do! pixiedust:

::yes::::yes::

Summer road trip planning is in full swing and, like all of our vacations, being replanned constantly. I think we're on our final iteration, but in need of a bit o help. We'll be leaving York, ME on our way to New York City on August 16. We're looking for something interesting to do for half a day or so around Boston and I'm opening the floor to suggestions. I'm looking at you Paul, Jim and any other Eastern Massachusetts dads. DW would prefer not to go into Boston, but I'm sure I could persuade her if the place/event warranted it. (We were out there 15 years ago and the city just left a bad impression on her.) We'll have DD9, DS7 and DS2, something like a Sam Adams Brewery Tour probably won't work.

Thanks guys!. :thumbsup2

Well, if you decide you have time to see a Red Sox game, let me know. I can probably get 4 tickets at no charge. Of course parking will be $50.:lmao::lmao: There is the New England Aquarium (a few hours), Museum of Science and if you are looking for an amusement park, Canobie Lake in NH is fun and not too far away. Let me know as it gets closer. Would love to say :wave2:. Let me know what you prefer. Indoors, outdoors, historical sites, fun, places to eat (New England stuff). We'll plan out some stiff for ya.
