Well, that is assuming we don't somehow win it. The odds are clearly in our favor.

I have a colleague who was a national development team coach for Tennis Canada. One of his first days in the position he was walking out to the court and was talking to a man who was walking beside him. As he arrived at the court he stepped through the gate and the man followed him. He asked him where he was going and he said out on the court, the player was his daughter. My friend told him as a parent he was welcome to sit outside and watch but he was the coach and would be the only other person on the court. The father was not happy.

I have tried to teach my dds to play. I don't know how to coach tennis. I've signed them up for lessons and have watched them from the bleachers. So, that doesn't seem like an unusual request.

I meant tennis. I don't play much anymore. My shoulder is in no shape to handle serving more than two sets in a day.

Back in the day tournament directors had a nasty habit of lumping the ranked kids in one section of the bracket and spreading their kids and the unranked players across the rest of the bracket. It got old fast having to battle one of the other top 4 players in the tournament in the opening round then play the other rank player who survived his opening round match. Or play the other top player in the consolation round. And I could go on for an hour about how directors abused the hour rest rule. .

Well, I can still serve. I just can't run or breathe well between points. I'll play doubles mostly now, although, didn't play any this summer. The other team will initially play me, because they think a fat guy will stink. But, I can still hot most every shot.

I wasn't good enough to win any individual tournaments. I played on the school team and we won a team championship. The coaches probably did what you were talking about.

Evening, men. Been off of the Board for about a week due to work efforts and kid activities getting in the way. Not to mention the infinite amount of leaves that keep taking over my lawn. Grrr.

~Oldest DD got her report card with straight A's. Very proud of her. 3rd grade but she's been showing a lot of maturity and initiative with her homework and studying.
~Ran in the Zombie Mud Run Saturday (5K obstacle course with, you guessed it...zombies.) and finished with all 3 of my flags. And no sever injuries. the latter is the impressive part. i won;t represent team Sparrow in any Run Disney events in the immediate future but hoping down the road that I can.
~Trying to find time to update my TR...I have all of my photos in place, just need to find the time to get it done.
~Also trying to build our Photobook via the PhotoPass site...but the site BLOWS! I lost 1.5 hours of my life tonight trying to build my book only to have the connection repeatedly time out and then get a friendly error message with Fix-it Felix on it saying the site is temporarily unavailable. Aaaarrrrrgghhhhh!

Been away for about a month (real life got in the way) and was surprised to find this place still open.. what have yall been doin while i was away?

Thought about reading back to catch up, then realized it was a lost cause so I will just skip to the end and say bacon to all.

Anyway I'm finally getting all my trip photos uploaded to photo bucket, so I can finish my trip report.

Morning Guys.... its the 2nd Monday this week and I am seriously considering leaving now for my WDW holiday vacation. Not been a good week and been crappy morning. Tried to install Photoshop Elements 12, yeah had an error and cant get it to install correctly. This puts me a little late for work, and I get in to see I have urgent tasking and a bunch of other stuff that needs done.

Is it Friday yet?

You kidding me? I have a clan now. Ever see a 5 month old beat on someone? She was punching and slapping me all night while she was sleeping in-between Melody and me last night.

We will be there the exact same time, although, we arrive on the 4th. Now, my booking is still pending the school calendar approval. We are guessing based on last year. So, don't go cancel until I know I for sure those are our dates.

I would like to meet you and collect on those beers as well.

Dates may already be changing. The Pirate Princess has Fall Break the following weekend so I may postpone my arrival a bit so she can fly down. Neither of us have seen MNSSHP and she wants to go. Screws up my plans for a solo trip. At least for part of it.

Not a Boston fan here but I'll comment anyway. Teams who get continuous support regardless of the product on the court/field have no incentive to make it better. See: Chicago Cubs

So if we support them in the lean years, we're foolish and give the team no reason to improve. If we only support them in the good years (yes, there have been a few) we're fair weather fans. What's a fan to do?

Florida seems to be completely dysfunctional with the NFL. The mess in Miami, MRSA in Tampa, and the dumpster fire in Jacksonville. Have you considered rooting for Florida State? I think they are your only option unless you switch over to hockey and start following the Lightning.
