School was cancelled for tomorrow. It's cold. A little rain, but it stopped hours ago. I hate it when they cancel school prior to any bad weather.

I'm always waiting to hear that work has a delayed opening or is closed for the day because it might snow, It just never seems to happen:confused3

I have a theory that weather forecasters and grocery stores are in "cahoots" with each other! ;)

I thought that too but being in the industry, I would lean more towards the milk and bread companies greasing some palms:rolleyes1

Still no word here. Fort Hood has a delayed opening so I am guessing we will too. (The last time Fort Hood had a delay and we didn't, attendance was so bad, they had five people up in the office calling parents. One hopes it was a teachable moment..if I may borrow a phrase.) The down side is they don't usually make the decision to cancel or delay until early morning, then they call and wake you up to tell you to go back to sleep. Which is a mildly comforting annoyance.

Draining day. The neighbors decided to move the cat we shared so SWMBO and the kids had to go say goodbye. I've managed to avoid most of the unpleasant/disturbing events and discussions so far.

Move the cat?

Move the cat?

I think it's code for something...:confused3

;)

The neighbor's daughter brought her cat home from college about two years ago to a house that already had 2 cats. It didn't adjust well and spent most its time at our house with my kids. The neighbors are now moving to VA and the cat is going as well. The offered it to us several times but we don't have a lifestyle that is suitable for a pet.

Did you have a test or something?

No, oldest dd had Nutcracker performance for the schools. In the past, we go out to lunch afterwards. We won't be able to do that now.

Yeah, it only seems to happen in the school world.

We have received those early morning AM calls as well. I would still rather have them cancel them once we actually have snow/ ice on the ground.

Gotta love our Texas weather. Yesterday 85 degrees, when I left for work this morning it was around 60. By the time I got off this afternoon it was 35. Ice is supposed to start fallin in the next few hours. No snow for us just ice.

Morning guys! I love snow! No not that much. Time to shovel so I can leave for work. DD's make their acting debut tonight. I'm super proud of both of them. It's a lot of work with memorizing the lines and being at rehearses every day this week until late :rotfl2:

Let's rock this Friday :cool1:

Mornin dads.:coffee:
Girls school delayed 2 hours cause of the ice. Several overpasses are being closed and I am supposed to be at work early. Wish me luck on the roads with the idiots on the road. .

Morning Guys, TGIF!!

As a Canadian that has to endure many of your jibes about out colder climate, snow and ice, I sit here laughing as it rains outside with no snow on the ground while many of you talk about shoveling out and icy streets.

Have a good one and stay safe.

Thursday historic reference taunting ownage.

So, Bobby Riggs, when are you playing that tennis match again?
:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:rotfl2:

Just checked the Candlelight Processional narrator schedule. The one name on the list that I didn't recognize is the one I've got. Some dude from Desperate Housewives- James Denton. If I went a few days later we could have gotten Edward James Olmos. That dude was on Battlestar Gallactica and Miami Vice. Much better.
I sat on the couch playing on the laptop while DW watched that show. He's got a strong, deep voice so he should be pretty good at the narration. Good luck.

I've been tempted to compare mine to the angel on the top of the tree.... Both on occasion have something stuck up their a.....sk me later she's coming in the room.
:rotfl::lmao:

My work was closed exactly once because of the snow. And wouldn't you know it - it was on a day I was already scheduled for vacation.

Take it easy on the pain meds there my friend... ;)
I disagree. Pop a few more and let's see if the toaster starts talking to you!

Move the cat?

All I can think of is the "grab the cat" scene from Lethal Weapon 3.

Sure, you just "played on the laptop". Admit it, you had whole episodes memorized.
