Bells McIcicle checking in.

Nice spread CJ.

SWMBO is already planning what to get the kids for next Christmas. A Disneyland trip it is! Sounds like she wants to make it a surprise too.

It's like me asking you which movie series I should buy? Star Wars or Star Trek. Falcon or Enterprise?
My answer to the first question might surprise you. If you could buy the movies as trilogies or in the case of Star Trek based on casts, I'd go Episodes 4-6 then the Star Trek reboot.

Some close ups of the Christmas village decorations

A Christmas Story:

Fah-rah-rah-rah-rah ra rah-rah-rah!

North Pole

Morning all! Great photos!

Got the tree up over the break...still have not found the box with the tree skirt and other living decor, but hey, you can't have everything.

It's one of THOSE days at work...have to be "available" during testing in case a PC goes down, but can't be in the actual testing room due to state regulations.... And since my office is in another building, I'm pretty well stuck sitting in a break room across the hall from the testing rooms and reading on my iPad for the next 3 hours.

Normally that would be a happy thing, but I keep seeing the mounting list of projects and work orders that need taken care of floating through my brain. Why is that the days when I have a legitimate reason to take it easy are the days that I need to be working the most? :sad2:

But the concept does remind me of something I miss mightily…

I miss Waterson’s work…
Hard to imagine that he stopped drawing those the same year my son was born.

His snowman strips were all-time classics. So was the whole comic strip, but I especially loved these. Thanks for posting.

Bumpasses!!

The heavenly aroma still hung in the house. But it was gone, all gone! No turkey! No turkey sandwiches! No turkey salad! No turkey gravy! Turkey Hash! Turkey a la King! Or gallons of turkey soup! Gone, ALL GONE!

:thumbsup2

A moment of Toronto Mayor Rob Ford levity.

Apparently, Ford stole the seat of Canadian musician Matt Mays during the Bills-Falcons game this past week. Eventually, Ford got annoyed by the fan/media attention and left and Mays got his seat back. By itself, it's not much more than another chapter int he "Rob Ford, Toronto Buffoon" chronicles.

But the kicker? The part that makes the whole exchange downright hilarious?

Mays came to prominence in Canada with his 2005 hit song "Cocaine Cowgirl".

Here is a little something for you to play with today.

: Took the day off yesterday but I'm back at it today. I've got some more vacation days to burn so I won't be working more than 3 - 4 days per week for the rest of the year with a lot of 4+ day weekends on the schedule. So that at least makes up for Saturday! :thumbsup2

I've started saving mine for longer time off. It looks like I'm taking off Dec 19 to Jan 6. I was going to start Dec 13, but i have an office Christmas lunch Dec 16.

Good stuff. Forgot about those.

Good Morning Dads - only 14 work days until Christmas time off!

Here's a couple of our decoration pics:

Built in bookcase that has Dickens village on top two shelves, North Pole village on the bottom and A Christmas Story in the middle]

That's a lot of lights. Great pictures.

I thought Revenge of the Sith was an excellent movie, maybe the best of the bunch. I agree with you about the Star Trek reboot. That was a great spin idea on alternate reality.

My work day was done around 10. I played games on the iPad until the battery died. Time for some posting and check some email until i go home at 2.

That's the problem... I really need them next year when we're going on a couple of trips and I wish I could save them. But since they have to be used by the end of the year and I have to schedule the days around a conference, some co-workers' days off, etc, I do what I've gotta do.

To make it even better, when he showed up Buffalo (the home team) was winning. After he arrived they went in the tank. Same thing happened to the Toronto Argos a couple of weeks ago in their CFL play-off game. Controlling the game, Ford shows up, team goes in the tank.

I actually look forward to the Christmas Eve marathon of that film.
One of the best collections of family related short stories every complied.

We get to keep a certain number of vacation days & roll them to next year based on years of service. Currently, I get to keep 30 days. However, my Dec/Jan leave is all holiday/ OT leave.

Hilarious..I've completely tuned out mentions of him at this point when I see the news, so tired of it. Wish they'd just make him go away.
